  1. Got to agree.

We are currently in possible one of the steepest downturns in recent history.

This is not going to change soon and will get a lot worse in the near term.

Prices are going to fall to close to zero for most second hand vehicles.

Not what people want to hear, but that is the reality.

On that happy note I'll crawl back to my cave

Can you make biofuel from bankers? :teeth:

  2. No money to be made in PC hardware anymore. All the big boys have pulled out of the PC market simple due to there being very slim operating margins.

If IBM and HP with their buying power can't make a profit (If you buy CPUs/Memory/Disks/Boxes by the 100000, you get a bit of discount) I suspect you might struggle a bit. I think the day of the PC is over. Most laptops have more than enough power/memory/disk space for the vast majority of punters.

Power users will still use them, but I think this will be a dwindling market. ( Don't know many people that need a serious number cruncher in the house )

Obviously the NAS/Storage boxes will get bigger. But there no money in building them either

(This is written by a grumpy f***** who's been doing this rubbish since the days of the Commodore Pet 2001 1978 :bang: )

  3. I would avoid the REVUP engine if possible. While you could get a good one there's a fair possibility you won't.

The issue is crap piston rings. If you are going to rebuild for FI (uprated internals) should be OK.

I am a bit bias. I have a 2006 GT revup and I'm in the process of changing the engine to an HR(hopefully).

  4. 333 deaths in police custody since 1998

Bent cops, bent politicians, bent bankers, bent soldiers, bent spooks! How do you think this is going to end?

Bankers have stolen 24 trillion dollars is the last few years, They also launder all the drug/weapons money...

They've done more damage to the world economy/peoples lives that any of the rioters/thugs have done...

    Where's your outrage at that?

  5. I don't think that is the case. Most people don't speak about it.

I expect they don't want to devalue their pride and joy.

The issue is crap piston rings and scrapers on the revup engines.

The only fix is to replace the rings and scrapers.

Mine is using a lot of oil at the moment, so I'm replacing it with an HR engine.

There are reports in the U.S. that there are issues with HR rings as well.

  6. About to install an HR engine, this should be good for 450BHP without needing rebuilt with forged internals.

As this will be my daily drive with occasional track days I expect to run @400BHP.

I have a pair of HKS 2530 Turbos, I havent decided which kit yet and all the work will be done by Abbey Motorsports.

Obviously hoping the dollar sinks like a stone to reduce the exorbitant cost of installing TTs. :D

  7. Hi,

I have a FX35, fantastic piece of kit. It's had an UPREV (reflash of the ECU).

For the size of the vehicle the performance is impressive and the build quality is superior to Nissan.

Not been too impressed with Infiniti in the UK. Obviously they haven't been in business too long.

As far as tuning is concerned anything you can do to a 370, you can do to the G37.

I'm going for twin turbos later this year, but I'm putting them in my Z. :D

    Kevin

  8. I have an import FX35. Jay wouldn't entertain getting parts for me. No very impressed with Infinifi at the moment.

Infiniti Switzerland just charged my £800 for a rear caliper. retails for 168 dollars in the states. Looks like another rip off company.

Much cheaper getting parts from the states and getting work done by independents.

  9. I lived in France for 20 years and I regularly pass through it once a month. (Although a lot slower now :-( )

I have been done for speeding on numerous occasions in both UK and French registered cars and vans and I have never been asked

about warning triangles, light deflectors, first aid kits, spare light kits. Have your V5, your driving license, passport, insurance documents and HiVis vests.

Speeding at 160KM/H will earn you a 90 Euro fine. If you don't have the cash on you the police will escort you to a cash machine.

If you treat them as humans and don't be a smart arse they will respond in kind. If you don't speed or have an accident, the only time

you might have contact with the police is random Alcohol Breath tests or random vehicle checks late at night.

Never seen these on the Motorway, But I've seen many at lunch time in various towns.
