  1. Seems to be a common issue, happens for me as well, though only occasionally and after many tries eventually it'll work again.
  2. Yes, that would be me. Yay, someone saw me! I live in Bracknell. Which way were you going?
  3. Well, it's now officially a rubbish movie. You don't just destroy Zed's for lolz and giggles, that's morally wrong! *strict*
  4. Oh no, not good. If it's really that expensive, then I think there'll be a Zed in parts for sale soon I haven't taken out the plugs or coils (I do computers, so 2 left hands with 10 thumbs) but will ask my mechanic to check that. I have the car booked in for new belts anyway, so he might as well take a look at those. Thanks a lot so far for everyone's suggestions, will keep this updated.
  5. It does burn a bit of oil, I guess that's what causes the blue'ish smoke.
  6. My good old JDM has now done about 100,000 miles. I recently noticed the following: I was driving on the Motorway, doing about 80mp/h (flowing with the traffic). I left the motorway via the slip road. At the end of this slip road is a traffic light which is usually red, so I have to stop. As I often do with my Tiptronic, I manually shift down to use the "engine brake". When I come to a stop, I notice a significant cloud of blue smoke from behind the car. I've taken it to my usual garage and they said it might be valve stem oil seals but they'd need to strip the engine to confirm, and quoted me about 2-3 grand for the replacement. They did say that they don't usually do this kind of work on the engine so this amount might be misleading (I hope it is). Are valve stem oil seals really that expensive to replace? Or what amount would I be looking at if I took it to an engine specialist? Or might it be something completely different? The cloud isn't massively dense, but it's enough to notice it floating by while waiting at the traffic lights... Funny thing is that this started happening after I had the engine terraclean'ed.
  7. I'd like one of these as well... had one but when I got new speakers fitted, the guy just ripped out anything he didn't understand (and binned it)
  8. I'm up for a set of smoked ones. Can you put me on the list pretty please? And please send me the payment details. Doesn't matter that much how long it takes, as long as they eventually arrive
  9. I already have one of those, they look really great, deffo much better than the original!
  10. I have 30s on the rear and 20s on the front and looks ace. Got stocks on at the moment but rays are the same size.
  11. 8K look really good. I think 10K or higher will get you police attention. 6K probably are the best compromise between brightness and look, but I prefer 8K
  12. I never liked the stock shift knob of my AT, but lacking a proper alternative (with the safete button thing) proved difficult until I came across the Momo one... Fitting is a breeze, only takes cutting about an inch off the inside plastic cap of the stock stick, takes 2 minutes in total and what an improvement! And no comments about AT!! A little love all around... Anyway, I thought I'd share a pic of the new one fitted and the old one next to it for comparison. The lower centre console bit is just wrapped in 3M brushed black aluminium film, I wasn't sure how it looked, but will take it off again (also because this isn't fitted properly).
  13. Thanks Dblock, I thought I read somewhere that it was the once-a-lifetime oil type (unless Nissan take 60.000 miles as a lifetime ) Alex, you have pm
  14. I noticed this a few days ago... usually when using tiptronic and downshifting, it is smooth enough and no problem. However, recently, when shifting down to 2nd, the actual shift is very hard and makes a bit of a noise, just as if the gear was forced really hard. This only happens when the revs in 3rd are lower than for 2nd (which is pretty much always the case, except you're about to stop). All other downshifts are normal and smooth, and when downshifting to accelerate, there's no problem. I know that not many people are smart enough to buy an AT ( ), but is this something I should be worried about? Is the gearbox going? The car now has about 95k miles. The AT transmission oil (if I remember correctly) is not meant to be changed. Is this really true? I can't remember though where I read this...
