  1. Any photos of the alloy gators on your black ed?
  2. I would agree. It does smell sometimes but I've noticed it less now I've got more miles on. I don't notice slipping normally but to be honest I find the heavy gear change a bit clunky and so when changing gears you find it won't change gear as quick as you would like and you inadvertently probably slip it. I wish the gear change was smoother! My only complaint though. The srm is the best invention ever - I see masserati are now putting it in their cars.
  3. The dealer at the performance centre i got mine from assures me the top speed isn't limited and will do 175mph
  4. I'm with E sure. Got the Tanabe and they wanted about £70 a year more but no objections to the exhaust mod. Good company - 1/4 the price of anyone else for even the standard car!!
  5. Awesome car Lexx and I love the colour. Welcome back! I also like your mod ideas and would love to see it when you have it up and running. Still thinking about possibly further mods to my Z.
  6. Sorry it's taken so long to get a vid up. I did a stock vs tanabe comparison video but my software ran out just as I finished the vid. Can't justify £50 on a bit of software I'll probably never use again. Anyhow below is the link to the recent quick video I did after the lakeZ meet. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0y7Y3f6N4s&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  7. Hi Martin, I've got a bit lost with this thread being so large. Can i just confirm I will be coming over to the Lakes on the Friday and I will be camping (I think I'm already on the list). I am planning to bring a friend as a co-pilot so that's two of us in one car. Is that OK? Also i'm not sure if I replied about food, but we're both in for the buffet too. Thanks. (I cannot truly imagine the organisation this takes! When will final plans/itenary be announced?) Cheers Neal
  8. Sounds good, certainly turning heads I bet!
  9. rogerxp, This is a pretty good resource. http://370zexhaust.com/ Stillen and Tanabe are both round 4.5 inch tips. I think most are 4 inch rounds which actually seem to look smaller than stock because the stock tips are oval... for me this wasn't a look I was interested in. Bigger is better right?! Off the top of my head I think Akra are actually bigger (125mm) but it's only because of the outer carbon fibre or titanium casing bit on the tips. I may be wrong on this though. I think if you went for Akrapovic with the titanium tips that would look cool IMO because you would get larger metal looking tips but most people seem to get the black CF tips design but it's all a matter of preference, mate. I'm not sure when I was researching that I came across any of the better known brands that do oval tips. You could get a specialist to make them or choose a company that has interchangeable tips designs - I think magnaflow, scorpion and possibly blueflame might do this. From what I've seen the Stillens stick out slightly more and are not cut to an angle which to me look a little more aftermarket but at the same time bloody nice... it was a close call between these two or Akra really. Tanabe would sound lovely on a roadster I will guarantee you that! Do it.
  10. Yeah, sorry it's y-pipe back. I didn't get the y-pipe at the moment because I wasn't bother about improving performance and it wasn't suppose to make much difference to the sound. I thought I would try it without and see how it goes. May get one soon though. I will change my signature to y-pipe back, thanks for pointing it out! N
  11. Would i need a y-pipe first because the above is just backbox and centre pipes? I am seriously tempted by HFCs... listen to this!
  12. I suspect that was me then. I've only had it a few weeks, just enough to break it in! I didn't mention that for the first few hundred miles is that there was a bit of smoke coming from the tailpipes and a chemical smell. it stopped pretty soon so i'm assuming it was just heat burning off cleaning or polishing chemicals or something. my car hasn't caught fire yet! oh and the sound has improved now too.
