  1. I went with AXA breakdown cover, they seemed quite good value: https://oqs.rescue24.com/quickquote.aspx?id=ef020b5d-bb59-49a7-b6cf-42ec08cdec37&covertype=25&Offername=AXABD02&__utma=212626450.1829050593.1405541056.1405541056.1409156550.2&__utmb=212626450.4.8.1409156552999&__utmc=212626450&__utmx=-&__utmz=212626450.1409156550.2.2.utmcsr=google|utmccn=(organic)|utmcmd=organic|utmctr=(not%20provided)&__utmv=-&__utmk=225739609 Not sure how this compares with Green Flag though.
  2. What a great day. Just made it back to my sister's in London, had an issue with my phone which I was using as sat nav but made it eventually. Think that was my favourite track day so far
  3. http://www.autotrade...201408066392173 2010 44,000 miles £12,990 Be interesting to know how it became a cat D.
  4. My mum's coming along as a passenger and I'm sure to keep an eye on my driving, lol
  5. If the engine did blow then I'd have to weigh up a new engine against a new track toy. I'm sure I will get a Z at some point but would probably wouldn't have one as a track car.
  6. Yeah I've had precats removed and I suspect the rings have gone, it's used oil since I bought it and as long as I keep it topped up I'm hoping it'll be ok
  7. Yeah, just worried about the grey smoke and heavy oil consumption, lol. Goes alright though.
  8. I'll be in an MR2. Ready for its 6th track day, hopefully not the last.
  9. Sshhhhh... nobody was supposed to know about that There were some screaming tyres but I only took pics on the straights - for health and safety reasons
  10. Does this work?http://s1078.photobu...4?sort=3&page=1 Not on my iPad but does on my Mac http://s1078.photobucket.com/user/Philip_Oldale/library/?sort=3&page=0 ^ that link works on both Are you the Phil that had the VX220 ? Yep, wrote it off in Scotland after 6 months. I use the MR2 for track days and I have to say it's been very reliable, touch wood. Ken/Will were trying to persuade me to get a 350/370z. Maybe I'll have one for the European trip next year

  12. Including one of Will prepared for a walk up the mountain with jeans tucked into socks, which caused a few giggles...
  13. I've uploaded some pics here: http://s1078.photobucket.com/user/Philip_Oldale/library/Europe%20Road%20Trip%202014
  14. Glad to hear you had a good day today Will. I drove from Zurich to Lille today, road wasn't very exciting but no traffic which was good. My hotel in Zurich was nice, it has a view over Zurich but unfortunately all I could see was cloud. Where did you go today? Is the weather any better?
  15. I'm getting excited now. Any idea when this trip is likely to happen?
  16. There is a selection of photos from the day here: http://www.flickr.co.../100509262@N02/
  17. Sadly I don't think Will or myself will fit in 1. I'm 6'4 and can just about fit in one, I had a VX for 6 months before writing it off - Will was able to sit in it but I think we took the roof off! It was a great day out on Sunday, the MR2 went faultlessly, handling much better with new tyres, though I did manage to spin once when taking Andy round. I'll also admit to being a little scared when I arrived at the track as there isn't much room for error on the high speed corner... I will post up some pics when I get them from Dave as he did take quite a few.
  18. Can't wait until Sunday, getting new tyres fitted tomorrow Another thing to remember is that they say you need to take the counterpart of your driving licence so worth taking just in case!
  19. Which '2 is it? We have a Mk2 Tubby for track use which sadly is much quicker than my Z on track. Mine is a standard mk3. Only thing I have done is fitted some yellowstuff brake pads. It's not the quickest but handles well, I went on an airfield day at Hullavington with Will370z and Brillomaster and their 328 was really rolling through the corners (which I found particularly entertaining to watch...) but had good power on the straights. Should be an interesting day, I think now the BMW has its new suspension I will be lagging behind a little more. One thing I learned was the importance of being smooth when turning in, braking and changing gear, particularly when it's damp!
  20. It should be a great day, I've had a few problems with the MR2 recently, gearbox went after I'd only had it a month, so it will be nice to use it again. Also I've not yet taken it on a proper race track so should be interesting... think I'll take it easy, at least for the first few laps.
  21. My first post on the 350z forum! Hope you all had safe journeys home. Thanks for letting me tag along - I feel I really learnt a great deal about looking after paintwork, and also what happens when you accelerate from a roundabout on a damp road in a mid-engined car... thanks again to Darren for assisting me at the roadside - I made it back to Guildford in one piece too Might see some of you at the Goodwood breakfast club next weekend.
