  1. Zmanalex - I can do Sunday too. And yeah was having a lou-lou moment, maybe was thinking Pitlochry (???) PM me your postcode and what time best suits, and its a date.
  2. Zmanalex to the rescue. Are you available this Saturday? I'm Edinburgh, so its about 2 hour drive, well maybe slightly more seeing as I'm taking things easy with her.
  3. Thanks Brillomaster. I read that - someone else is also having fault code issues. And yes the sensor seems to be a known problem. How would they know if the timing chain has stretched. They did say that it doesn't happen very often and that they have only heard of 2 other cars having the same problem. I also phoned another garage and asked if they could do the work - replace the timing chain, but they said it needs to be a Nissan specialists due to the set up of the computer. Me - I haven't got a clue. I can do basics, water, petrol, oil, but thats about it. Anyone know of someone who can look at it and tell me honestly whats wrong and what needs fixing. Scotland if possible.
  4. Le Grande Dame is very poorly... Just had news back from Nissan Dealer with full diagnostic check. Code P0340 ABS code C1130 Apparently my main timing chain is stretched (should be 10mm, is 16-17mm). They've said I need a new timing chain kit and it will cost £1500 - £1600. Which I don't have. I've read through various threads about the cam sensor code. Is it possible the wool could be getting pulled over my eyes regarding the "replacement of the timing chain kit". I've had issues like this before, i.e. wool getting pulled over my eyes, I'm blonde and female and they can see me coming!! What do you think. Background to Cholula going to the garage. Came out of works car park on Wednesday night, turned left, stalled the engine, car started again, just thought it was me! About 5 minutes down the road, car stalled while driving. Was it me, was I having a bad day. Stopped and had a chat to the other half on the phone. Checked the battery was connected - was ok. Drove home, everything alright. Went into Asda. Stopped the car. Started her up again. Stuttered, bit rough, but started. Thought I'd get the shopping and let her cool off. Back to car about 20 mins later. Started her up - stuttered, bit rough, but started. Malfunction indicator light on, ESP off light on and TCS light on. Drives alright (although I've been driving her like Driving Miss Daisy), except for a bit rough starting, 3 lights as above on all the time. What are your thoughts? I've been looking for a Nissan Specialist in Scotland that can do the work - or at least look at it, without fleecing me.
  5. Here's the first load More to follow....
  6. Wasn't on it. Though would love to. Got up at 5am after arriving into Bologna earlier at 1am to see them before they drove off to Brescia. Missed Martin Brundle and Bruno Senna. Saw Bryan Johnson's jag but missed him driving off too. Was running around trying to take as many photos and just see the cars. It was all a bit mad. I've been trying to upload the photos to photo bucket but in Florence at the mo and the free wifi is a tad slow. I'll post up when can. Also went to Galleria Ferrari the following day - mmmmm.
  7. Just a taster...will post more when can. Not sure if this will work - apols if not.
  8. Happy New Year to one and all. Lang may yer lumb reek!!! Sent from the comfort of my sofa using fingers on the keyboard of my laptop. Lx.
  9. Spotted you having a bite to eat - in the car!!! Sent from the comfort of my sofa.
  10. Is there nothing sacred, nothing off limits! Hundreds, thousands of people running for fun..Fun...FUN!! Raising money for their chosen charities, their friends and families supporting them, cheering them on! What political motivation/justification for this!! What political statement? What?
  11. We don't celebrate Valentine's Day in this house either - too much commercial twaddle. I sometimes treat myself to asda's pink roses, they cost £10, over the past week, they are £20!!! I've always told the other half if he wants to tell me he's having an affair, he can buy me a valentine card. Not sure what would hit the bottom of the stairs first, him or the card!! We live in a 3rd floor flat. PS. Twobears - love the shoes, very Vivienne Westwood looking.

    2 Owners?

Maybe I'm being thick, but in the second photo the car is the wrong way round but the reg is the right way round. Anyway, looks good - good luck!!
  15. I know its not exactly what you are looking for but..... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p I just passed this tonight, its parked on Ferry Road at Stewart Melvilles, it looks good.
  16. I doubt anyone on here, but parked right next to me - safest place - at Craigleith shopping centre at 3pm today. Had me in a spin cos I did a double take before I realised which one was mine. The flashing lights when I pushed the button on the key fob gave it away!!
  17. 17. You give her a pat on the head as you lock her up for the night.
  18. Sorry to hear about that and hope you get your new pride and joy fixed soon - the car too. But.......are you not running RE040 on the front and 452's on the rear? You're maybe lucky and not going to get a lecture from the "Tyre Man".......
  19. Hilton at Dunkeld. By the river Tay. There's 4x4, clay pigeon shooting, archery, art galleries, fabulous walks: Birnan wood; Ossians cave. A spa in the hotel, tennis court, swimming pool. Oh and go the Taybank hotel for something to eat. Place looks a dump but the food is outstanding. They only serve burgers and stovies.

Do your homework before you buy, then you should be alright. I bought my car from Arnold Cack, they gave me the hot coffee routine, off to speak to the manager several times, tried to sell me a warranty, servicing package, told me all about Treating Customers Fairly, but I knew that I could walk away. Its my money, they needed to prove their worth that they deserved it. I said I was having a dekra check. They said the mechanic would need to bring his own ramps, as they wouldn't allow him to use theirs. Basically a right bunch of @@****. Anyway, I've had the car 2 years, and apart from one of the battery terminals working itself loose - no problems. Check service history, how does it look, how does it feel, how does it drive, does it check out ok, and are you willing to part with your money for it. You'll be fine.

Re Alex Noble, I went window shopping there last weekend. They've got no 50's, just 2 70's and a few of these bad boys!! I just couldn't decide which one!! Re their warranty and after sales, they are not good. Other half bought his scooby from their Subaru branch in Penicuik, and he's had no end of problems with them. He's now taking his car to a Subaru specialist. Most recent issue was a recall from Subaru to check something or other. Nobles checked and said it was ok, then sent him a letter saying it wasn't and to return the car for the part to be changed. He phoned them and they said sorry it was a mistake, the part doesn't need changed. At the start he had an issue with the turbo, took it back, they looked at it, changed the sparks, charged him a fortune and didn't fix the turbo issue!!
