  1. I went to see this car and was very impressed with it, only reason I didnt buy was I wanted a brighter colour. It is possibly the best priced UK car for its condition at the moment as well

    DOH!

didnt realise chips away did alloy refurb - any idea of cost and how good a job ?
  4. Agreed a price on the zed I looked at yesterday So another Scottish owner now Have to wait to Thurday before I pick it up though and having to get on one of those train things first time on public transport while sober in years lol Hopefully now will make the pistonheads run at weekend - anyone else going ?? Pictures and more stupid questions to follow
  5. Up early so thought Id look at some insurance quotes, the good news the 350z will be cheaper than the Boxster The strange thing though the quotes for keeping overnight on my drive were cheaper than keeping it in garage, up to £30 cheaper I have always had my quotes in past based on keeping car in garage, but being honest im very often to lazy to put the car in Looks like I was wrong in assuming ticking the garage option was saving me money
  6. yes have no doubts about how good the car is if it was orange or blue I would of already bit his hand off.
  7. One at a dealer that I wasnt keen on and this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1957008.htm Did like this one and loved the colour was not though so keen on the aftermarket exhaust (Japspeed) The price is high (actually the highest on pistonheads for a 2003 UK GT) but he did say he would consider offers So really thats now two cars I like Stephens (on sale from here) and this one. The advantage of Stephens is its a known car, has had a replacement clutch and there is no doubt that it been looked after The other one has an immacualte service history, full years mot and 6 months tax but doesnt have the benift of being owned in the past by people whi I know took care of it. So now have to get thinking and obviously looking to see what sort of money the owner of the orange is really looking at
  8. Thats the one I have seen, seems like cracking car and good value (almost exactly on book price) but not wanting to jump straight in and buy first car I see
  9. prob around £9.5k at top end
  10. Hi all have made it obvious that Im looking for a zed Looking for a UK GT with less than 60k on clock and a good solid service history (main dealer on Indy dont mind). Evidence of on going maintanence would be good as well Colour wise blue or orange would be ideal but being honest for the right car it doesnt really matter that much. Im near Glasgow (ish) and while something local would be have no problem travelling for right car as long as I can get it inspected or someone to have a look at it before I travell a long distance. Im prob looking to spend £9-£9.5K or ideally a bit less so I still have some money in the bank feel free to Pm me

    350z

Good luck Im looking as well and Im in Ayr- a uk GT for me though
  12. At moment have only seen one car and was actually well impressed with it, but this time Im trying to avoid my usual habit of buying the first car I see and then regreting it a few weeks later. Think maybe I will put a wanted post up to see if anyone on here is willing to sell in my price range and also make some "silly offers" to some on pistomnheads and autotrader I would def prefer a well looked after "known car" but if there is bargains out there I may as well chance my arm
  13. spoke with a few Dealers I know and for a 2004 a trade in offer would start at £7k and maybe go up to as far as £7.9k for a late model with low miles. Thanks for tip on advanced ebay search, by far most of the Zeds on there dont seem to reach reserve and are not sold of the ones that sold there was a low miles 2004 GT that went for £7k, a 2002 JDM for £5.5 K, a 2003 GT that went for £7k but a non GT late 2004 went for £8k. Looks like at the moment its a buyers market which obviously is great for me but @*!# for everyone selling and probally for me when I eventually go to sell. Supose the problem is you never really know what the difference between peoples asking and selling price is. I know in past when looking at cars I have missed out as the asking price was way out of my budget so didnt even bother speaking to the seller only to find out that they sold it for less than my budget Usually I wouldnt look at a car 10% over my budget, maybe I have to think about that ? as people can only say no
  14. possibly slightly high, but not the most expensive, the cars on pistonheads are in general a bit more expensive than the equiv on autotrader. You prob have the same problem us us over in scotland that a lot of not so many people looking to buy such a car and people wont travel big distances if the car is not a bit of a bargain
  15. Obviously have been looking at lots of zeds in the classifieds and there is huge variation of prices for cars of similar age and specs. The asking price for 04 GTs with 50 odd thousand miles can range from £8500 to £10,500 with the majority being slightly north of £9500 I have no idea what the actual selling prices are, Id imagine up to 10% of asking price? According to the app on my I-Phone a private sale of an early 04 GT with 50k is £8540 and dealer £10450. Incidentally my old car has book value of £10,200 and I let it go for a lot less than that ïŒ Obviously a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and personally I don’t mind paying a premium for a car owned by an enthusiast who you know has taken care of it and probably spent £1000’s Just wondered what peoples thoughts are?
  16. Ta for showing me the car today Really nice car, was well impressed and def interested but as said dont want to rush and buy the first car I see. I am wanting to buy something before the end of month so will give you a shout soon.

Good luck with search :-) looks like you are looking for something very similar to me :-) there is few nice ones in the for sale section that might be what your after. Where abouts are you and how far you willing to travell ?
  18. Ok :-) When I bought the porsche every body said no point using RAC/AA same when I was looking for TVR, good to know that at least its an option in this case
  19. There is a lot of us Scottish people on here and looks like it just me thats Zedless :-( Oh and welcome to the forum :-)
  20. Travelling is no prob past few cars I have bought were hours away , but would be nice to find something reasonably close to home for a change :-) With inspections is there any recommendations who to do this or do the AA/RAC do a decent job ?
  21. apart from the obvious piston heads, autotrader, ebay and on here where else would you recommend for searing for a 350z ?
