...aack your missing it Neil, people on the street don't go (or at least most dont)...'oh dcks drive those things their terrible'. I can't believe the looks this car gets, old, young, guys, girls, kids. It is a special car if it makes people do that. For someone whos always liked cars you should never grow out that. Yes an Audi R8 smacks it in every term, but because its in a lower class doesn't mean its a 'jumped up datsun' lol. That thing where you catch sight of something nice and reasonably rare, it works for all classes and still works with the Zed (particularly facelift models lol) When you see one from behind on the motorway it doesnt look like any other car with its squat look and arches. You could hand me an R8 right now and id still look back to glance a Zed if I seen one. Nissan skylines (more so older ones), if you wanna take it from a design point of view (as I studied it, ...then decided not to go down to england for the transport course...*idiot*) their crap, it looks nothing like what a sporty or supercarish vehicle should be,BUT its proportions and size stand out from eveything else, it looks special, it makes you look. Loose that and you've lost your love of cars (and thats not coming from some jumped up kid in a hatchback). EDIT - I honestly think for a car forum (as bad as it sounds) some people actively try to take down the Zed lol I'm not a huge zedmaniac, Ive said the interiors not bad, I do realise its cheap plastic etc etc, I hate its backside, not the best lookin thing ..and so on, but when some posts are made (and not always mine ) instead of joining in the fun and maybe a bit of loose cristicism (aw you might get shafted from an RS tbh.. lol) people drive it down hard, nah the zed cant do this, its rubbish for that, whats the point etc .... People joining this or others might just think, ... they don't seem to class the Zed very high do they?... lol think about it.. I'm not entirely wrong there.

Dear god theres a tonne of stuff to trail through here...but in true controversial style...I shall.. lol! A... Ekona I think your like 40-50...by the sounds of it lol(im 27 and despite sounding like a yoof... my job title is Data Analyst/Auditor... how childish I'm I really likely to be? lol!) B... I am going up there for fun, its not a technical excercise, I do want to see the times (tht is the fun part along with doing it) and Im not bothered whether I win or loose in the main sense (obviously your tryinglol), I just don't want to waste my time being beating by a stripped out nova thats tuned to the moon. Not because I would be annoyed but Id rather be beaten by something to look at as it disapears... a TVR for example..you get them a lot, mind you its banzai so possible some GTRs or something equal to the Zed anyway in pace terms lol) C ... (I'm harking back to some previous past posts from others here)... The Zed ..your 309bhp car...is not normal. It doesn't sound normal, doesn't look normal, sure as hell doesn't go normal, people see it as some sort of mini supercar (or porsche which I get annoyed at in petrol statons lol). An astra, a Mondeo these are 'normal' cars if your talking about general. To some this is a pipe dream to have such a car and I'm very very lucky to have an HR in such good nick, some people struggle to afford the 276's tax etc. To me it sounds sometimes (and dont take offense...even tho you will lol) some people are too used to big powerful cars and forget how special a car can be to some people! Especially if its your first time in such a powerful thing. Fair enough I'm reaonsably used ot it now, but its still gives you a thrill, still makes you smile, so I would disagree with anyone calling a Z..a normal car. And...D... if I come back clutch fecked, crap times, you can all have a laugh anyway lol Pay attention to point C...lol
-
Yeah your missing the point here Ekona, its a mix, its all about fun but you do want to try and get a good time...thats the fun part! Taking it seriously would be kitting it out, stripping weight etc(which some do...). Too many are too quick to pin something down lol. (think as you would when you were a bit younger... not lol). And no I will not be side stepping the clutch lol You can still get away quick without ruining it. Anyway I know everyone has their opinions just... don't think too much into it. When you were young-ish and if you had a nice car and someone went lets go here and blast up this 1/4 mile and you'll get times at the end and the chance to race some nice stuff (even if it beats you).... you gonna turn round and go...well I don't see the po...SHUT UP! I'm gonna stand firm on that point.
-
nailing it you say.... ooof this forum won't hear of such stuff ...
-
Yep I'm aware of that, but I don't want to waste my runs (if I can help it in the queing lol) with stuff like that. Hopefully get some decent comparisons for the stuff a lot of people will be thinking of, hot hatches,S2000 etc. I'm not going up for serious runs, this is my first time so I'm up to enjoy it and see what the car can do, the aim is not to beat this that and the next lol

Find a specialist, cheaper than main dealer and more than likely better service. Tyres mid-range for a decent set of rears around £300ish, but you can spend a lot more than that. Fuel wise if its an every day runner like me, you'll be spending a fair old amount. Budget at least £250 per month (30mile a day to work and going to friends/social stuff etc), I spend around £300odds.

lol Didn't think you would. Just seen the two and thought you might know, I don't see many R32's kickin' around. Also seen a yellow R34 few weeks ago on the M8 with the different spoiler you got on them, know that one from the club ?lol
-
Neil your sappin' the fun out of this lol I will be careful with the clutch and I'm not a fan of racing on track (a nice country road jaunt does me fine), I like straight line pace better anyway its all good fun! And I'd rather look after my clutch than wreck my tyres, brakes etc on track. just got two new rears on yesterday, my bank liked that

Oooh that would be a good shout, DE vs HR. Is yours modified at all? I'm stock (i feel so american with that word..lol) I really hope its a nice day and busy! But either way I'm looking forward to a bit of fun. I hope theres some really nice stuff up, I wouldn't mind being beaten by something exotic-ish lol Mind you I'll hopefully not be near some of the heavy modded bangers and some are ridiculous quick. I don't beat off a Corsa...pml
-
Its ok, I still love you....pml... Well its a def (unless peeing with rain), im heading up next sunday to Crail, times will be posted when I get back , hopefully some vids. Incidently how do you post videos from photobucket?
-
Ok how do you post videos from photobucket then? lol I thought it might take the link in the image thing but no... EDIT.... why the hell am I still up this late and on this I haven't even been out drinking
-
...because I've never owned a car this fast before and still enjoying it? (you've ran out of fun zedness ...)lol Remember not all of us have had a huge lot of experience and 300+ ponies at their disposal... its novel. Now fair enough I'm not 17 and don't feel the need to wreck a car, burn its tyres out or do donuts (ill give it a try one day.. just for you DBlock lol) but I still like the novelty of having a fast, pretty good sounding car. Now have a fish to face for your old grumpyness...
-
I knew it wouldn't be long before he returned...lol Hello DBlock...
-
No don't worry its decently new and flat (why I chose it) and no houses, its in the middle of nowhere really cutting off a main road. Its like a long straight a sharp right then up a hill to the farm, you can get a good....good speed out it, but yes you do have to watch for...bunnies
-
You in the North Lanarkshire area ? lol I've only ever seen 2, Tranquils usually and thats twice I've seen this one going through Shotts.
-
Dunno if you'll have any idea but worth a shot, seen tonight while out with my mate a redish R32 and then on another road a white skyline (only seen it just so didn't make out the mark) about 10:45-11ish, around the Bathgate area. Worth a punt lol
-
EDIT - Thread for Crail now made in the regional meets section.

....... .....

Private farm road of a friends (single track prob wasn't the best but still ), but I'm still dubious of posting such a sad video lol Near harthill services (everyone seems to know this better lol). Tranquilbass said he might be up for it too I'd need to say to him, plus I'm sure there was somebody else on here that was interested last time I mentioned it.

http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/schedule.php?ID=1 Next ones the Banzai day (I'm assuming this could mean more jap stuff etc? lol) on the 5th May. Next Sunday, ill keep an eye on the weather but think I might go to this if anyones up for it (only going if its dry though, not wasting my time when its pissing of rain or wet).
-
Oof, seen Ekonas name there and feared the worst lol *breathes easy* And yeah I've seen Evo do that 13secs. You are right with the 0-60 but would it just be like 5.6/7/9 that sort of difference so eg. if it was the 0-100 even a rough time would be ok...but yet the rough time was 12 I half want to post the video but thats kinda sad. I really do need to get it up to Crail I think now the weathers a bit better. Would give me a decent ish time for 100 as I think the Z manages to crack it before the 1/4 mile lol Oh and I don't rag it, I wanna keep it for a good while, but I do use it. There is a difference... (fears challenging long term members lol)
-
I know , fair enough it is a bit random, but im genuinely curious. Cos after the initial start the wheels are running ok so no real wheelspin so why does it get their so quick? Speedo cant be that bad. And shoot me for being a bit young-ish and interested in what my car could do lol
-
Evo apparently done their own test and managed to crack 5.5 out a 350Z HR O.o
-
Ok, call me a fool for being suckered into such a random thing, but after watching some EVO vids on youtube (as you do when your bored and eating dinner) and seeing a couple of speedo shots, I had a go at a geeky and bit of a sad experiement... since my camera can sit on the steering wheel and not move..which is helpful. And the resulting crap video gives me a decent 'time stamp' of speeds. Now it is dry and there wasn't really any wheel spin. Taking into account any inaccuracies by taking a bit off them, rough times were.... 0-60 - 5.6secs 0-100 - 12secs Anyone had a crack on a racetrack or know just how quick an HR is?... Surely not 12 secs ... that seems quite quick, but I can't see it to be too wrong unless the speedos utter crap? (sensible answers please... lol) EDIT - I have read American magazine reviews and some of their 60/100 times are pretty damn quick compared to Nissans claimed. So don't know if over the pond Z's are a bit better? lol
