  1. Laughing my ass off until about 2.20 - is that kid dead?
  2. Yup its been done buddy, especially within the drift world....... why have white smoke when you could have red coolio, I'm going waste some time at work searching the interweb for this..... Something like this? Mate of mine in his Supra
  3. You know they aren't serious about it being a replica Deloreon. I'm basing this assumption on the line "The car was customised to take part in a road trip to the Pamplona Bull Run 2010 in Spain" I'm guessing it was done for some sort of "banger rally" along the lines of the Scum Run or the other one that was mentioned in the Off Topic thread. some friends and I recently took part in the scum run this summer (although i didn't make it - details in the viewtopic.php?f=13&t=40075) but this was the car:
  4. A group of us took part in the Scum Run rally this year - looks like a similar idea to the one above. http://www.scumrun.com/index.php The idea is all entrants have a car worth under £500 on the day of purchase. After that you can do what you want to it! Our car was an old Subaru. One of the lads works for a sign company, he provided all the vinayl for the car including the decals. The organiser of our group had a mate making some sort of race car who provided a (damaged) rear spoiler which is artfully (and "safely") attached to the roof using two wall mounted bike hooks. Car almost complete - just missing final sponsor decals The lads landed in Europe Unfortunately I currently live in Dublin and the rally took off in the UK. I was due to travel over to the uk on the morning of the first day, however, the icelandic volcano had other ideas. So rather than taking off on the rally I skulked back in to work to much laughter. However, the lads had a cracking time (apart from a shredded wheel on the M25 before the Run even started) This years route took them up through Europe including an evening in Amsterdam (I'm told they rolled into their tents at about 5.30, back up at 9) and even a visit to the Ring (which i think has to be the part i was most dissapointed to have missed!) It's an anual thing for charity but they also do a Rag The Ring expedition, no restrictions on cars, just a bunch of enthusiasts on a road trip to the Ring
  5. 0 for me now - given that i currently live a 2 minute walk from my office i haven't exactly been doing all that much driving for the past 3 year Got 3 points 5 years ago now. I was 20 at the time, driving a 1.8 Golf GTi and not up on my highway code, the road i was pulling onto was a 30 when i thought it was a 40 (had 2 lanes, 3 in places, but because it was a ring road round a town centre it's automatically a 30) and the fact that the camera was about 200 yards away from a very bad crossing meant that when it flashed it actually had film in. got the Zed a month ago and driving it i haven't felt the need to do any speeding even quite happy cruising along on the motorway 70-75 (this is on one of only 5 times i have currently been able to drive my car )
  6. Quick update on the status of the "noise" coming from my car my mums husband was kind enough to take my car to the dealers and take the master technician for a drive. After which they acknowledged that there was a noise that was audible in most of the gears and they took the car in. They ran some diagnostics tests and decided it was my diff making the noise and have ordered the new part which should be in on the 18th. My question is, would the diff be making this whine noise and if it is should the diff be damaged on a 58 plate with a little over 7k on the clock? The dealer i got it from is part of a nissan chain and it was bought from and part ex'd back to the same chain.
  7. Welcome to the forum Liam, hope you have fun finding your Z and then driving it If you are stuck on colours check out the Media part of the forum. Plenty of pics of different coloured Z's
  8. Sounds like you need a car cover, not that will help too much for the flighted ones liquid visiting cards. that or a shot gun, but my mum wouldnt be too impressed with that approach only a few weeks and it will be away from there, guess there a few more hours fun for me before then
  9. Welcome to the forum Jon. Hope you enjoy the new motor Pics would be good when you have the chance!!
  10. He would probably take in more if he was based on a busy high street, washing drive in cars for 5 quid a pop and had a couple of guys working for him haha nice observation. i got a bit blinded by his big jobs also that is assuming his obvious OCD isn't so bad it would stop him from doing his OTT job on every car!
  11. I did a quick calculation of his before overhead income (very very sad i know but it interested me) 52 weeks in a year. average person takes maybe combined 5 weeks holiday a year (bank hollidays, christmas etc) leaving 47 weeks * 5 working days= 235 working days average person works 8 hours (excluding lunch) but seeing as he lives at home and obviously has a bit of OCD i said 10 235 days * 10 hours working day = 2350 hours 250 hours per car = 2350 / 250 = 9 cars a year * average of £7,000/car = £63,000 per year you have to factor in his set up costs - converting his garage, the top quality tiles, the first purchase of the massively expensive cleaning products then yearly overheads - electricity, refills of the products (or import taxes if the refil is free) and the replacements of all the clothes etc he must go through It also assumes that he has a car booked in every 5 weeks and doesn't work weekends (but the holliday weeks can be taken as part of the down time between jobs so its very sad that this actually interested me and is probably fairly off the actual figure but it did plus i'm in a different country to both the wife and car
  12. Thanks guys, that was my first attempt at cleaning - car is kept at my mums house and she has A LOT of doves!!! Since then I have read the guides on here, think my next clean will be a lot more involved!!!!!!!
  13. wooohooo. Transfer is rolling on. Apparently the interview (last Tues) went real well and the offer is going up the ladder for approval! Should be in the UK by last week in August! Looking forward to all the Thanks again for all the warm welcomes guys. Looking forward to being more active on teh forum and maybe making some events
  14. Charging £7k a pop washing super cars, you would have thought he would have found a more sensible place for his laptop? Or is that just me?
  15. This guy is a disaster There's a "quick guide" thread to modding your car, this one should be stickied as "what to never consider" guide to modding your pride and joy
  16. Thanks to all for the warm welcome guys. I have to admit the fact I am still in Dublin waiting for my transfer to go through and the car is back in the UK is killing me more than a little bit! Just can't wait to drive it again!!
  17. Hi Guys, thanks for the quick replies. I asked about the whine because I only picked it up 2 weeks ago from a main dealer after it undergoing an "81 pont check" and being still based in Dublin I've only had a few chances to drive it!
  18. Hi Guys, Just wanted to stop by and say a quick hi to all! After 3 years of living in Dublin (car limbo) I am moving back to the UK and in the end decided to get the 350z I have wanted for ages. At the moment the car is based in the Stansted area, but when my move comes through I will be down Bournemouth way permanently Below are some pics of the new car! On a more technical note, when I hit the accelerator from about 3-4k revs I hear this whining noise (until the roar of the engine drowns it out) I think it is most noticeable cruising in 6th gear, if I get the engine above 3k the whine kicks in. Now the car is still well within warrenty, but i wanted to check with you guys first to see if it is defo something that needs checking out Anyway, thanks lads Rob
