  1. Just put falken 452 all round on standard car. Changed from some cheap tyres on front and bridgestone 050A on the rear. Tyre noise is much improved above 50 mph, its still quite noisy but I can live with it now. Previously I thought this was the worst aspect of the car. Grip seems ok for the road, fine in wet conditions and dry. So for the price and road use I think these were a good buy. Certainly worth the extra over a budget tyre and the premium options don't seem to be so much better that they are worth the extra money. So overall for all year road use and taking price into account they are very good.
  2. I should be sorted for this now so hijack away
  3. I'm after a stock nissan 350z boot spoiler, preferably in blaze silver. Anyone got one from when they put a different one on lying about ? No idea what these are worth so PM me with price you want and we can go from there. Thanks
  4. Nope, not one person. Maybe its overpriced, but maybe the market is bad for these at the moment. I think I'll probably end up keeping it, its got to be worth £8.5k, well it is to me anyway so if the market price is less than this then I'll be keeping it.
  5. Ask zman alex he had some for £24 I think.

    fuel costs

Wow, I generally struggle to get much over 300 out of a tank. I'm not driving like a loon either, although admittedly I am driving in traffic. You must have mostly motorway driving in that ?
  7. I've got some sorted now. Thanks to all who PM'd

    fuel costs

I use mine for commuting, I get average 24 mpg, however I also have the odd trip down the motorway. I suspect its mid to high teens in traffic. Its not the best on fuel, but not really bad either.

    Rays alloys wanted

Fair enough, just that I've seen a few really good sets sell for around that - but I'm not expert. Just want to pay a fair price both for the seller and myself.

    Rays alloys wanted

I'm after a full set of standard Rays (as came with the later cars) alloys to fit a UK 04 car (if it makes any difference) Price wise to give you an idea...... I am willing to pay between £300-£500 depending on the state of the wheels (marks, curbing) / tyres (brand, treads etc). I would pay up to £400 for a set of mint (no marks etc) wheels without tyres. PM me if you have anything. Ideally like them by the end of nov if possible, but not that worried. I'm in berkshire, clearly would be advantagous if they were located within a few hours drive.
  11. Still looking for some. Someone must have some standard orange reflectors that will fit an 04 car that they want to shift. I can get some new genuine nissan clear ones for around £45 so I'm thinking I'll pay upto around £25 for a used set. I don't want any bling/non standard ones thank you. PM me if you have anything.
  12. 70,000 miles, uk car, GT pack, Sat nav, 6spd, bose sound system, good service history, owners manual etc, lots spent over the past year. Its recently had new front discs, yellow stuff pads, hel brake lines and brake fluid fitted at abbey motorsport. New wishbones ,new exhaust, new boot struts, new mats. Nismo V2 ? spoiler with carbon fiber effect. later bonnet. I have original front bumper if required. HPI clear, not been crashed etc. One front wheel is curbed by me (idiot ) but not too bad. Otherwise cosmetically very good. Next service in May. Mot due 30th nov and front tyres low (will need replacing) hence price. £8500. I'm not going to shift on price much, I can trade it in if I go any lower. PM if interested. Some pictures:
  13. We have both, almost nothing in it in a straight line. Clio is a great car. 350Z isn't the fastest in a straight line though is it now so shouldn't surprise you too much
  14. I've just taken 25mm spacers off my car. I bought it with them on and thought the car was crap, didn't realise it was largely down to the spacers. I took them off for safety reasons as I plan to use the car on track at least a few times a year. The suspension on my car is all stock UK stuff. The car now drives more like I was expecting, steering and ride are much better and the balance front to rear is much better. Its now possible (just) to use the throttle to steer the car or at least adjust the line of the car where it wasn't really before as you just got loads of understeer. Before the car had the feel of an aftermarket kit that had been set up all wrong. Now it drives much better. Its still not perfect, the diff could be improved a lot - you can still go round a corner with front wheels understeering and the inside rear spinning away but the balance is better before the limit of grip now. The only negative impacts for me are looks and also there is more body roll but as handling has been improved its not the issue it might be. I suspect it is possible to adjust the suspension geometry using some more aftermarket parts to get it working correctly with spacers.
  15. Provisionally sold, please PM if interested and I'll add you to a list in case it falls through. approx 6 months old. For a 350Z, were fitted to my car. £110 + P&P or buyer can collect. Prefer if you can collect as they are heavy and then there is no issue about getting damaged in the post etc. based in reading, berkshire. PM if interested. Will be dealt with on first come first served basis.

    Why should i??

I found the M3 to be a compromise for all roundedness. It's faster, but it doesn't feel as involved and it's horrible to drive slowly. I did like the raspy exhaust for a while, but then started to loath it. For me it always felt like an autobahn cruiser rather than a b road car. It is a big heavy saloon at the end of the day. It just didn't tick my boxes, but then it may well work for others. I know what you mean but when you start to explore its limits on track you realise what they have achieved with the car. Its what they were aiming for, relaxed when cruising, but when you start to push it then it comes alive. I also agree its not as easy to drive slowly as the 350z but this is the case with all cars that are starting to be capable of 170+ mph. If you drive a 330i for instance its much easier round town. The controls need to work at high speed well. Weight wise its hardly any different to the 350Z, not so it would make a massive difference. Its the same in my other car, you can get 50 mph in first at around 6300 rpm. It also idles at 1500 rpm whilst warming up so using it in rush hour traffic means I have to slip the clutch nearly all the time in stop start traffic. However a shorter ratio would just be unusable under full throttle. Fair enough if you didn't like the M3, it is objectively a great car but only you will know if its for you or not. Not everybody wants the same thing from a car, or uses it for the same type of driving. I'm not 350Z bashing here, its not fair to objectively compare to a car nearly twice the price. Its sort of like comparing the M3 with a GTR, the GTR is much better, but its a class (or 2) above and priced accordingly.

    Why should i??

Hello Dallan, can't think of one reason why you would get a clio V6 instead of a 350Z apart from the quirkiness factor. You've had a clio V6 before so you know what they are like. The 350Z is faster and better to drive than the clio and I expect more reliable. This will be unpopular on this site but I don't think you can really compare a 350Z to an E46 M3. The M3 is a class above the 350Z in all situations. Its much faster, handles better, has a better ride, is better quality, has better fuel economy, has rear seats, a useable boot and although the brakes are sometimes said to be a weak point they are still better than the UK brembos on my car. Accordingly it also costs a F*$K load more to run than the 350Z. This is not putting any shame on the 350Z. It cost around £26k new compared to £44k for the M3. I'd say the 350Z is brilliant for a £26k car. I also think the M3 is brilliant for a £44k car. Having gone from the M3 to the 350Z its not something I would do for anything apart from financial reasons. Lots of people have the argument that the M3 looks boring, but this is the point, its not supposed to be bling. Also if you like the M3s I'd draw your attention to the Z4M coupes, excellent cars and more interesting to look at. On the other hand at its price point the 350Z makes an excellent case for itself. I think you need to decide what money you are prepared to put into running the car and then it will be easier to make a decision. All of those cars are 'good' cars so you can't really make a mistake whichever you go for as long as you can afford to run it. Mike
  18. Front of the 350z, cabin and rear of 370Z
  19. Sounds like the 350Z will be a good choice for your needs. I personally prefer the Z3M and S2000 in terms of desirability to the 350Z however the Z3M will cost a lot more to run than the 350Z and be less reliable. S2000 are epic cars when on full chat but daily can be wearing. Also (having owned a Z3M coupe for 3 years) I found the cabin to be too cramped and was really the main reason for sale and its even worse in the S2000. The Z3M also will need the suspension to be sorted out if you intend to track it as will an early S2000. The 350Z is a much better car for everything apart from going flat out, which you can't really do on public roads so it sounds like it fits your needs the best of the 3 cars you have listed. I'd say go for it (the 350Z) Insurance on the S2000 is high for a reason, lots of people crash them in the wet. Best thing to do is drive them all and see what YOU think. Hope this helps.
  20. Thats fair enough bud, I just find it hard to believe that we are talking about the same exhaust tbh each to their own I guess To be fair its not awful otherwise I would change it. Its just not as good as the stock exhaust up to say 2500 rpm which is where most of my driving is esp on the motorway. I'm not really a fan of changing the car unless its functional in terms of performance which I don't think this is. So I'm not saying its bad, just for me and what I use the car for not as good as a stock system would be, therefore I wouldn't recommend changing it from a noise perspective, but then I use my car as a run around its not what I drive 'for fun'.
  21. eh ??? Chavvy ?? I couldn't disagree more, it's the most subtle exhaust out there IMO , are you sure you don't have a K1 ( not that I'm saying they are chavvy) but they are certainly loud. If it is a Scorpion and you don't like it then why not swap with the OP then you will both be happy. Simples It just reminds me of the 1.0 Novas / clios with after market exhausts making a lot of noise from no throttle. I'm not against a loud exhaust, just loud when I give it some beans not on a small amount of throttle. I think its also because the engine note isn't particularly sporty, and doesn't really change with engine load too much so again sounds more like the average family car with drain pipe attached. Its definitely a scorpion. I don't want to swap because 1. I can't be bothered, its not that annoying. 2. The originals don't last as well as they should and I don't want to be replacing the thing in a year or two. They asked for opinions this is mine.
  22. I've got this on my car. Was bought like it. Personally I would prefer a standard system as its a bit boomy for me at low revs and it feels slightly chav imo. Sounds ok once its up in the mid range though.
  23. Thanks for the replies. Was hoping for somewhere a bit nearer for minor work. Good to know where to take it for its next service though
  24. I need to find a decent garage around the reading (berkshire) area for the 350Z. I'm just going to get a small job done (fit braided brake hoses and replace brake fluid) but if they turn out to be good will be using them for lots of further work in the future. I've done a search but it didn't turn up anything. I'm more concerned with the quality of work than price but would be good to get good quality and a cheap(er) price than the main dealer. thanks in advance for any info.
