  1. ive had a look at audi a4's great car but the insurance is 200 more than a golf with the same engine
  2. im now looking at vw 1.9tdi's. golf is looking good. lot of passats at bargain price but the insurance is higher
  3. used to have an accord and it was a great car but shame there all petrol
  4. p.s great write up. perhaps should have started with that. i love my new bmw albeit only 181 bhp diesel power. its power full enough having said that its still nice to jump in the zed and get more grunt.
  5. have you found the distinct lack of any good forums? i recently bought a 2011 e91 for work and i have been posting on bimmerforums for about 2 months. i may as well talk to myself as no one ever replies or if they do it takes weeks and is usually incorrect. its really frustrating when your used to the 350z forum where you get about 10 replies within an hour.
  6. will the bigger cars not be worse on fuel. what about a fiesta or focus 1.8 diesel any good for reliability? i know what you mean about french for reliability. i have it preprogrammed into me to never buy a french car but ive had a few people say there ok and there are loads for under a grand. i know what your saying about reliability when your paying under a grand. i suppose what im asking for is peoples experiences and general knowledge about the engines in these cars for example i could buy an alfa romeo or proton etc for the same money as an older vw. i would say that although both under a grand i have a better chance of trouble free motoring with the vw than some korean tat.
  7. Hi guys and girls, i guess you're going to get bored of me going on about sheds but i have changed my mind about ten times. I have now decided to go diesel so im looking for recommendations for a sub £1000 diesel shed. its literally for my mrs to get to work and back but ideally she would like something that isnt too nasty looking which rules out skoda's etc (nothing against new skodas but my price bracket has some dogs in it ) im looking at pug 206 1.9/2.0 diesel and nissan almera 2.2 diesel. really open minded tho so any suggestions welcome. The most important thing is cheap motoring i.e insurance/mpg/ and reliability. hope you can help i guess the reliability is the area i am most unfamiliar with as i know naff all about cars.
  8. i think you guys are right. only 6 mpg in it and my girlfriend is a genius when it comes to driving economicaly. she used to get at least 50mpg out of a 1.4 petrol civic. i couldnt believe it when i realised how small the petrol tank was and how many miles she would get to a tank
  9. im looking forward to it to be honest. the zed can stay at home safe in the garage and be enjoyed as it should. Exciting drives and good roads. but most importantly having a shed that i dont care about. can park in normal parking spaces rather than the other side of the world away from everyone else
  10. nissan micra mpg 47 fuel capacity 42litres mileage est 16000 miles pug 206/ fiesta diesel mpg tops 53 ( think ive answered my own question here. hardly anything in it) fuel capacity 50 litres mileage est 16000
  11. if you cant be arsed to read all of the above. the question ultimately boils down to "what would the mpg difference be between a 1.0 litre petrol micra and a 1.8 litre diesel fiesta/1.9 litre diesel pug 206?"
  12. Hi guys and girls, i recently posted about a daughters first car. it got me thinking about a shed instead of the zed for my missus commute. i have decided to throw a grand at a shed as my girlfriend currently spends approx £400 a month on petrol just going to work and back in the zed, plus its putting the miles on the zed and she doesnt get to enjoy the drive as its bumper to bumper or boring motorway for 90% of the way. so i have narrowed it down to 2 options (not 2 cars ) option 1, 1.0 litre petrol most probably a nissan micra 1.0. I like this option because of nissan reliability and alot of people speak highly of them. option 2, 1.7-1.9 litre diesel something like a fiesta 1.8d or a pug 206 1.9d. im leaning to these purely on mpg. i am presuming that even though the engine is bigger that because its a diesel i will get better mpg? one thing that makes me worry about these cars is reliability ive had ford/peugeot before and dont rate them for reliability. Despite my last point i am only spending a grand so should the worst happen if it lasts longer than 3 months (£1200 in petrol for the zed) then ive still broken even and havent but loads of miles on the zed. what do people think? sorry for the extent of my rambling.
  13. its literally not been out of the box as i bought the blueflame before this was even delivered. The back box is an official japspeed as it came in a japspeed box. i was worried that it would be a copy but its not.
  14. I've still got this exhaust by the way. i managed to get a blueflame for a bargain so this was delivered and is still in the box. if anybody wants it they can have it for what i paid for it.
  15. Taking the p!ss. From what I've seen it should be on the up!
  16. this might be a pointless post as i dont know anything about the typhoon however, i have a JWT popcharger and it sounds immense. lots and lots of people have these on here.
  17. i agree with the last bit definately but i still think he is knob for shouting what he did. At the end of the day i was minding my own business and not causing any noise/trouble or problem for him and he goes out of his way to **** me off. i dont particularly like football but i wouldnt go out of my way to antagonise people who do like it. each to their own i say! I think he is a big fisherman as he has a load of fishing gear in his garden but i wouldnt dream of putting his hobby down. TBH i couldnt care less what he gets up to
  18. thanks, sorry to the op for barging in do we know where is the best place to get them from?
  19. is there a way to touch up the soft feel paint ontop of the 3 pods (oil temp, voltage, and computer)
  20. Hi guys and girls, you may know that ive recently fitted a blueflame exhaust. I have my oem backbox, mid pipe and y pipe in the shed. I plan to put them back on the car when i sell it. Do i need to worry about the exhaust corroding? should i paint it with high temperature paint to prevent it? thanks kev
  21. ive done a bit of searching on insurance and the micra seems quite high... well higher than the options my daughter has given me she really wants a corsa 1.0 litre which will cost £1500 to insure whereas the micra will cost £1800 i would rather have nissan reliability but she wants a corsa because it appears cheaper and looks cooler.
  22. not sure what you mean by this post, but im not trying to justify my car. i just wanted to vent after a knob passed a very undeserved comment!
  23. does no one sell them in the uk mookstar is yours an 06 facelift?
  24. very true, i thought about this today so i went and detailed my engine bay for a couple of hours. really pleased with the result but really enjoyed catching him watching me at the window at least 3 times... sad b4stard!
