I have just replaced mine with the replacement ones from SGS. They came with all the fittings including new brackets just needed to remove the old struts which are attached to the existing fittings. Undo all the bolts to completely remove. I could not see any way to remove the old brackets from the struts without cutting but there was no need due to all the brackets being included in the new kit. Now I have a boot that stays up and no headache but I was surprised at how heavy the weight in the boot lid is.

I had one of these bad boys 18 years ago: 1976 Datsun Cherry 100A. Head gasket used to go once a month without failure.

Is there any way you could try to trace and contact the previous owner listed on the v5 doc to check the history of the car?

Just been for a test drive in a mint 05 GT low mileage example and........... it made me buy it. A credit to it's former owner. So hello and thanks to all the posters on this forum for some great info. Andy
