I'm not someone who would regularly thrash out his own car especially when I saved up for a while to get this. I have never even attempted to drift before and know how costly it is on tyres, as I am changing them this would have been a good time to try it once. Tried for 2mins or so on private area couldn't do it very well, so gave up. The 0-60 also a one time thing too and jus tried it twice.

    0-60 times

I was just doing this as a one time thing as I just wondered how fast my car really is. I've never drifted before, and would normally never attempt to do so but I am changing my tyres next week so thought why not give it a go once, on private roads of course wouldn't want to get into trouble doing so. But has anyone normally had the same problem when the rear end wobbles a lot between gear changes?

    0-60 times

I tried doing 0-60 a few times as quick as I could but the fastest I could do it was 6.8secs, just using 1st & 2nd gear, but I'm sure its supposed to be around 5.9secs. What times do you guys manage to get 0-60. One of the problems I did have was that between gear changes the rear of the car was kinda like 'fishtailing' pretty fast, like a tankslapper on a motorcycle...anyone know why? This did contribute to the slow time. I have a standard roadster. I'm thinking it maybe to do with 3mm tread on the rear tyres Another quick question, my handbrake needs tightening, tried to drift but using the handbrake made no difference what so ever. Also the car rolls back when it's up so I need to park in gear. Is it a simple job to do?

I have removed the 350z badges easily but I'm struggling with the nissan badge. I have heated it up with a hairdryer and tried taking it off with cotton thread and dental floss but the threads keep breaking on the nissan badge. Is there anything else I can use instead that will take it off easily without damaging the paintwork. I bought these from ebay to replace them with if anyone wants some, were around £40 inc postage for a pair and arrived within 4 working days.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 3257wt_935
  8. Vertini hennessey 20" 8.5 front & 10 rear, et35. Did a test fit on the weekend to check if the wheels would clear the brembo callipers without the need for spacers. The rear wheel seemed to be ok but havent tried the front wheel yet. Havent bought tyres yet. Was thinking of falken 452s 245/30/20 front & either 275 or 285/30/20 rear, not sure which ones to go for either 275 with a bit of tyre stretch or 285 and the risk of rubbing, as I was going to lower the car on eibach pro kit springs.
  9. I got myself some new wheels but when I tried to put them on the spigot rings I got with the wheels would fit the wheels but not the hub. The diameters are 73.1 & 64.1. Am I right in saying that the diameter for the hub should be 66.1 not 64.1, just wanted to make sure before I get some new ones. Also the standard nuts that were on the rays are too wide for my new wheels as I cant fit a socket set around the nuts when tightening them as the gap is too small. Does anyone know exactly what size nuts I need, I think its M12x1.25 but not sure. What's the best place to get slimmer ones I've had a look on ebay but thought if there was anywhere else thats cheaper.
  10. Would you these tyres by any chance (2x)245/30/20 & (2x)285/30/20. I'm not particularly bothered which brand although was after falken 452s

    Will 20s be ok?

I've decided to go for falken 452 tyres 245/30/20 front and 285/30/20 rear. What size spacers would I be best to clear the brembos and would I need them for both front and rear? I was thinking 10 or 20mm? I was also hoping to lower the car by 30mm with the eibach pro kit springs. Do you think I will have any issues with 20s such as rubbing with this set up, would I need to roll the wheel arches?

    Will 20s be ok?

The wheels I'm thinking of getting are Vertini fashion. Can anyone please explain why 35 tyres are used on the front and 30 on the rear? I thought both would be 30 stew do you think 285s would be better on the rears or 275s?

    Will 20s be ok?

I'm thinking of getting some new 20" wheels. They are ET35 8.5 front & 10 rear. What size spacers will I need to clear the brembo calipers, will 10mm be ok? As I found some for £47.99 (www.potn.co.uk/p1340293). I'm also gooing to use falken 452 tyres, I was recommended 245/35/20 front & 275/30/20 rear. Does this set up seem ok? I will also be lowering the car 30mm. Will having 20s with this set up cause any problems?
  14. Alex I dont know which one is the microswitch and how this can get stuck, maybe I'm not looking at the right thing? I'd appreciate a photo of what and where I need to use some wd40 I've tried to find the 5th bow attachment and lubricate it with wd40 but the roof it still getting stuck 6" before it gets into the boot and have to move the roof up and down at least 5-6 times before. and when it does go all the way down it makes a popping noise just before it goes into the boot, does this happen with any of you. I'm also not sure if I'm lubricating the right parts. can someone please show an image of exactly what I'm supposed to lubricate with regards to the 5th bow and how to get to it. Is it visible and easier to access with the roof up, down or half way?
  15. Thanks for the welcome and advice. I'll try greasing the joints and hope that it helps, the roof rarely does that but is annoying when it does. As for the cubby lid, i saw a jdm with satnav with the buttons below the screen instead of the remote and that had a motorised lid that opened n closed automatically with the ignition, so was thinking whether mine was supposed to do that also. i wanted to powdercoat the standard 18" rays matt black and then lower the car, but after going through the threads on the suspension section it seems i may need a rear camber kit. Is there anyone who hasn't fitted one and suffering any problems with/after alignment? I don't really know how low to go and what make springs to use so any advice would be appreciated. I'm from nottingham so will be keeping an eye out for any midlands meets.
  16. Hi I just bought a black 2005 350z roadster a few weeks ago and have been going over this forum for the past few days. I have just two problems with it and was wondering if anyone could help. 1. I have the birdview satnav and i think the cubby lid is supposed to be motorised, it opens when i press the button but i kind of have to force it closed every time. Is there a way to fix this 2. When i bought the car i tested the roof many times and it worked fine. but over the past two weeks the roof has got stuck 3 times just before its supposed to go into the boot, i have to move the roof up again slightly and then retract the roof and then it goes back in the boot. on one occasion it wouldn't go into the boot at all and after several attempts and a slight push it then did. Has anyone else had this problems as its starting to bother me a little bit. Thanks in advance
