  1. Had my 370 a month now, went for the auto but as yet not convinced paddle shift is right for me,at times when I want to change up all I get is an annoying beep and I'm held in the gear the box chooses,so I find myself being lazy and leaving it in auto. However I love the look and the way it goes !

What revs are you at when you try to shift up? as far as I can tell from 1 to 5 it has to be at or above 2k before it will shift up which is fine. If you try to drive it like a normal gearbox in manual it wont be happy, use each gear as you shift up or down and it behaves much more reasonably. I only use manual when I want to put on a bit of pace and it reacts perfectly.

Driver error, not gearbox error :)

I have only had the beep when driving like a nun and trying to change into 4th at less than 30mph.

But usually in slow traffic situations, or town driving, i am in full 'wafting' auto anyway.

    I agree.

The beeping noise does happen, but only when I'm trying to change up in manual mode at 2000rpm or under, but that's too low to be changing up in manual mode, it's not a Prius and it's not a minicab!

To me, manual mode is sport mode, I switch to it when I want the drive to be fun (which is almost all the time), I only go into auto if stuck in traffic on the motorway or car parks.

Yes I realise why it happens,I was simply saying for the benefit of the O/P that it doesn't respond in manual mode like a manual car.In my 350 manual I could be in any gear I decided suited me at the time,so personally I think the auto doesn't do it for me,driver error indeed ,I bought the wrong model !

  3. Well thanks for all the reply's/opinions/advice,didn't realise i would stir up such a lively post.Having had the car a few days now a few points made have become clear.I am getting used to it ,and on the A class roads where i live it's not so much of an issue, i will probably drive on motorways only occasionaly.

As also pointed out it's a while since i had a noisy car,the 350 and the Supra being the last two so perhaps i was a bit hasty with my criticism, however in between times i had a Audi TT which was pretty quiet and refined so i guess i was being lulled into old git's mode :D

  4. What tyres is it on?

But yes, those cars are noisy. Not as noisy as the 370, but still not quiet.

Need to check tyre make ,think it,s Michelin,s of some kind .

Tyres are MPSS so may give sound deadening a go !

  5. If you have the standard exhaust then yes the tyre noise will catch your attention, but as most upgrade to the music of an exhaust more befitting of a sports car (and its a decent one) then more of these :D than these :( will be the result.

If your exhaust is already upgraded and its the noise with motorway driving you find of concern then most will enjoy their second favourite music.....from the internal speakers

Stretched the budget to get the car so exhaust will have to wait I'm afraid !

  6. Well picked up my 13plate gt edition today, its in fantastic condition, and although I had read about tyre noise i wasn,t really prepared for how much there is particularly at motorway speeds, hadn,t noticed it as much on the test drive. Its a lot louder than I remember my 350 and my Supra,s, wondering if I will get used to it or if it will be a short acquaintance !

  7. Have now discovered car was serviced at 950 miles in 2012 then 4900 miles in June 2015,thats it !!People with low milers seem to think it's not worth servicing every year, now well overdue one in my book!

  8. Have been enquiring about a 4 year old Zed and it appears to have had 4 previous owners so it has me a little concerned,am i being paranoid?Dealer says cars like these are toys and usually have a few owners, car is low miles and hpi's ok .

  9. Price drop to £8995.

I have no idea why this is not selling, it is a fantastic car, great condition, low mileage and one owner from new. It is on autotrader and piston heads. I appreciate most people on this forum have a 350z, so not really expecting it to sell on here. Anyone any thoughts on why it's not selling?

  10. Hi Formatzero

I used them recently, I purchased my 370Z from them, and I have to say I found them some of the most helpful people I have ever had dealings with and the whole business was smooth and efficient.

I would highly recommend them, although I have not used the Service side of things.

OK thanks for that, was it new or second hand Z ?
