  1. My work place is getting so desperate that they are sending 4X4 to pick us up..f**king pathetic I am going to make sure they drop me off tomorrow when i finish work..otherwise i will refuse to go in.
  2. I won't called £47 cheap..apparently it retails around £65 and it's made by goodyear It's made in china though..might explain the quality of the product
  3. i found the snowsocks i bought a tight fit..it does look easy in the video but i'm not sure if the autosock has a more elastic band compared to the one i bought
  4. The mail van doesn't have snow sock... so you won't get your snow socks until the snow melts I wasn't expecting to use it for this time round but the next one..winter has officially just started..it's december
  5. will keep everyone posted once they come thru the post ..well..if they ever come thru the post..not seen royal mail for days now
  6. Good to know Posidrive Was thinking the same as lots of the seller for snow chains are UK based. Surely they won't be selling illegal stuffs had they know the rules.
  7. The snow socks can be tricky to put on if you don't jack the wheels all the way up,..a bit like putting on a pair of glove blindfolded. You need 2 person for the job..one to drive back and forth while the other person has to give instruction. That's only way you could get the rest of the socks on. It's a one man's job if you jack the wheels up. Realistically, can't do this at the hard shoulder all the time-it's just impractical. Have a look at the snow chain youtube..looks much easier..there is no need to drive the car few inches away just to get the rest on. Only downside of the chain is i'm unsure about the clearance under the wheel arch..definitely not an option for those who had lowered their Zed.
  8. I don't intend to use the chain for gritted roads...don't want to be responsible for causing potholes on the road. Will only be using it to get out of ungritted snow or icy road where i live. It's easier to put them on and get them off.
  9. Im confused lol.. Is it a 350 with an Aston front grille or has he upgraded to an aston? (I noticed it's the same plate as the 350 in his sig) upgraded viewtopic.php?f=9&t=42467&hilit=aston+martin
  10. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT Watched a few youtube video on how to fit a snow chain..looks a lot simpler than the snow socks.
  11. The snow socks were cack..paper thin. Not going to risk damaging the next set..so i bought a snow chain..hopefully that won't ripped into pieces
  12. It's a 350Z with the Aston martin bodykit It's an Aston Martin..wish i have one
  13. I am the same. Got up this morning trying to get to work but the car is sat in 1 foot of snow. They haven't gritted the area at all. The Zed is my only daily drive..not going to risk it. Time to let work know i am not coming in.
  14. If u don't mind me asking, how much did the Hunter wheel alignment set u back? you could PM me if you can't say it loud. I am thinking of getting this done when the winter's over as my steering is not going in a straight line at the mo. Cheers
  15. Thanks Rich..that answered all my questions
  16. Does anyone know if you could use winter tyres all year round? Would it not be more cost effective to fit tyres that will suit all weather conditions considering our artic climate?
  17. That is one hell of a snow chain...f**k it..i am getting a snow chain.
  18. The video made it look easy..take it from me..it ain't as easy as it looks if u are on your own..u need to move forward and back to get the whole socks on..otherwise it comes off easily. Much easier to jack the wheels. The fabric disintegrate with too much friction, hence my last questions about snow chains but now that is out of question...what a PITA.
  19. anyone any experience with snow chains? Not legal to use in the UK. How stupid is that?
  20. anyone any experience with snow chains?
  21. i know Chris..there's no need to rub it in Seriously a lot of work to put them back on..easier to jack the wheels up. Taking them off is easier.
  22. hi gort..couldn't be arsed to take them off, so was doing 40mph for 10mins and i could hear it disintegrating 47quid down the drain..only had it for 2 days The next pair i buy, i am going to use it only to get me out of trouble on ungritted/icy area.
  23. ideally u ought to have them on all four but just the rear wheels should do Remember don't drive on bare tarmac..found out the hard way this morning..one of mine is shredded into pieces Winter tyres are still the best if u could afford them.
