  1. I don't mind it, There are far more uglier supercars out there
  2. Posted by Tere Replacing the throttle body is a piece of cake -- remove the intake tube at the throttle body; remove the 4 allen bolts; remove the connector to the TPS/ETC, replace with new (don't forget to plug in the connector in your haste to get back in business), and you're done. Do Accelerator Pedal Released Learning voodoo, followed by Throttle Valve Closed Learning voodoo, and finally Idle Air Volume Learning voodoo after replacing a throttle body. I can give you all the Nissan voodoo doodoo and five hail Marys if you need them. Oh heck, here's the Engine Control System -- it's got all the engine codes and diagnostics -- the above voodoo starts on page EC-50. Right click on the link and Save Target As to download and save on your computer -> http://tere.net/t-z/ec.pdf Brand new throttle bodies cost about $650 US, BUT Nissan makes factory rebuilt ones for $120 plus $40 core charge (refundable). It appears the TPS/ETC failures are common enough that Nissan is remanufacturing throttle bodies -- one of the very first Nissan rebuilt parts for the 350 they've offered. The engine code indicating TPS failure is 2135. With total TPS failure, your Z will be in unclearable fail-safe mode. You can decipher it with Nissan voodoo, or take it to any garage with electronic diagnostics (OBDII connection to ECM). Or find a friend who has a diagnostic program on their computer -- I use AutoTap to read engine operating parameters and codes (also clear codes). If any daring soul wants to experience TPS failure, just unplug the TPS/ETC connector on the throttle body. _________________

  4. personally I think it's quiet on tickover but once you've opened it up it gets pretty loud. DC sounds the best on tickover IMO
  5. sounds excessive to me but then your engine will use more while it's bedding in. How many miles have you done so far. It has been noted by GT4 owners that the engine is a bit thursty on oil. Perhaps the reason for the 310bhp engine to come out shortly after yours
  6. much prefer them in the original finish rather than black. Also gonna be costly to repair if you scrape them
  7. just take it to where there is loads of speed bumps and you'll soon leave it behind
  8. basically register here for news and updates http://www.gtrnissan.com/
  9. if it is the limiter then you need a HKS speed defencer for it. Bigphil on here I think can supply with handy fitting instructions. This needs to be done on all import models if you wish to go above the 112mph.
  10. to the forum and enjoy. Seems like you are already doing with the Z
  11. had my black envelope come through too
  12. yep, on something like this it will be free fitting, how much better can it get. excellent phil, just need to pay off the wedding and start saving
  13. can you fit them phil in ya new workshop
  14. if you do a search on here you find some issues that a few members have had and it's a known problem that Nissan know about. Usually the problem shows on 4th and 6th though. Once the problem has been reported before the warranty runs out, as I understand it, it still gets repaired under warranty even though it has expired.
  15. I would of thougfht the first place to ask for advice on this and cost implications, what needs changing etc, etc is TDI. They are members on here and you can pm them. Some info in their Blog
  16. agreed, it won't be cheap to do either.
  17. but their isn't that much force on it to lft it, It's steering the air not and not trying to create lift or downforce where it would be under stress
  18. some of the scotch 3m tape is very very strong. Have you tried to remove the nissan badge for instance
  19. best of luck Andy
