  3. i would put my vote for mechanical failure of the needle mechanism over circuit failure. Brings a new meaning to tunnel run! i bet you have a playstation controller in the car as well
  4. haha i love the reply i watched shutter island the other night, this is just like that! stuck in his own delusions! Subtle use of failside there tarmac haha. chris, go see the car, sod it i'd even come with you!! how long we gonna leave it before we send him the link to this thread?
  5. if any module loses signal it returns to the default, for the rpm needle this will be 0 revs. So if there was a fault where it lost signal it wouldnt hover. The needles within the cluster are smoothed by the mechanism being filled with a silicone based lubricant gel. It's a delicate mechanism that shouldn't be left upside down for prolonged periods, the gel can be disturbed leading to sticking needles. Is your car an import? if so i imagine the cluster will have been removed to alter it to mph? in which case they may have had the cluster face down potentially damaging it? I suppose the odd one will eventually develop a random fault, maybe moisture, maybe something else. It's difficult to guess tbh but thats the best i can think of.
  6. sounds very odd, like the needle is sticking rather than losing signal.
  7. 1000 posts haha you stalker! he sounds like a right ricer nancy boy haha
  8. brilliant, it'd almost be worth saying to him you have some dyno time booked if he's ok with taking a short run over to the dyno place

  11. not having a dig or rant sarah, just talking with people it comes up a fair amount, it was from one of these discussions that the poll was dreamt up. It just happened to be me that posted it but could have been someone else. As i said this is a what the customer wants excercise not a witch hunt.

  13. true mart, i suppose this is the "what the public want" thing. No taxes, free beer, lapdances at work. We can dream
  14. Visibility of consistent pricing & advice is key to the best deals/buys in the club OR Traders have a right to give private advice & keep their pricing to themselves what's the public opinion on this one? PS: Please don't degenerate into a war and get the thread locked, sensible comments are good though
  15. We use two new ones for work! The worst bit of designing and engineering i have ever come across! Shocking!! you want an older one mate, the new ones have a ford transit engine its barn door engineering not for your comfort but for practicality mate
  16. these are only mirror covers, the actual mirror and mirror mechanism/heating would remain unchanged. So you would keep all functions you currently have as far as i can see (possibly excluding folding).
  17. A PM saying read your email
  18. i bought my last car blind, got there, signed the docs, got in and drove it without even walking round. but that was 300 quid
  19. nah it will eventually be worth more than 15 quid. well maybe not, depends on how many were made. probably millions.

  24. wouldnt be difficult, just time consuming, as alex suggests your a few wires short. -the new indicators can be triggered from the side repeaters as these are closest. ---required: power, ground -the puddle lights you could trigger from the door opening sensor (do not power from the dome lights) ---Required: power, ground I count 4 wires to do this properly
  25. game cube was the least memorable console ever, its a wii with no motion sensitivity. about as usefull as a chocolate teapot.
