Cheers guys, I bought the PAC signal booster but that obviously has the connections for the RCA leads which is pretty much what led me to this assumption in the first place. Was planning on checking the earths when I get the dashboard off again tomorrow and will make sure I take a good nose through the manual for any wiring clues.

Really not sure mate but there was no sound from the system when I initially put it in on the weekend and that was without the RCA as I had a duff one supplied.

This may be a stupid question, feel free to mock if you wish I'm expecting my replacement (and hopefully properly manufactured) cable from Pioneer and wanted to preempt the 1/2 hour of daft looking confusion as I sit in my car with a mass of cables in my hands.. The RCA connector from Pioneer has 2 female outputs for the sub, and 2 female outputs for each of the front and rear speaker sets yet the ICT-29-672 cable has only the 2 male inputs for the sub and 2 male inputs for speakers. I appear to have 2 female outputs too many. Now under most circumstances that would put quite a large grin on my face however it's not ideal in this situation. What's the incredibly simple solution that I'm missing please guys?

It's the AVIC-F710BT, they also seem to be sending dodgy RCA connectors out with them, the one I had in the pack was missing all of the outputs except the sub. Still waiting on Pioneer getting back to me about that

The gap is between the unit and the facia, the facia fits the car perfectly.

The one I used was the one from Sextons recommended all over the forums, I didn't use the trim that came with the system itself.

Did use the facia mate, seems Pioneer have a different idea of a double din size to the rest of civilized society. They also have a different idea of customer service and manufacturers responsibilities than everyone else too but that's a different story. I realised the pointlessness of covering the replacements while dozing off to sleep last night, sometimes I wonder if my brain even bothers turning up for the important decisions . And I'm fairly sure I can get the leather to fit, had a good look last night amd it's not exactly going to break the bank to have a go

Hah! Only £12k to you Steve as I like you Got 2 things in mind, firstly there's a gap under the new satnav that needs filling so a 1/2 inch strip of leather would do great in there. Secondly I got the replacement door switch covers as the others were scratched and was thinking about covering them with some leather before fitting them, I reckon a splash of orange on the doors would look the nuts You get your shades in the post yet mate?

Funny you should say that, I almost bought the new Alpine with the builtin capuccino maker but the dealer was giving me the run around so I had to settle for this one instead. Maybe next time.

Got the Pioneer AVIC-f710bt for oodles of connectivity goodness Steve. It's not in yet tho, only arrived yesterday and need a couple of hour of decent light to get it in. Should be done tomorrow morning, at which point I will be able to automatically guide my journey, listen to my ipod, make a phone call and watch a dvd. All at the same time, honest.

Go on, step up and be the first I am sorely tempted, just blown almost a grand on an ice upgrade tho so a bit short right now
