  1. Oh btw, were you at Trinity when a dumbass checker didn't pay attention and let a crane driver take off a shoreside ROB that was still lashed with bellybars, and thus ripping the WHOLE bellybar off it's cleat, then falling off the ship at high tide and hitting a berth op?

It hit his leg directly, no bounce of the ground first.

He now works as a IMV driver since he cannot perform any B-Op duties anymore.

  2. All the functions no as some of them are operator specific i.e. I think VisualVoicemail is only available through BT. I think there is something else but I think they are the only operator specific functions. Everything else should work fine.

Note if you are running firmware 2.2 on a 3G then you will not be able to unlock it. If you buy a new one you also will not be able to as my friend found out as you need to update it before being able to activate it :(

Correction, the 2.2 FW has now been made unlockable.

Once you Jailbreaked your iPhone 3G with QuickPwn and installed Cydia, look for the yellowsn0w application, which will unlock the 2.2 FW for you.

This was realeased by the Dev Team just after New Years.

btw, my 2G iPhone came from the US, bought it off eBay when they first became available and using my 7-year old vodafone contract SIM in it with no issues whatsever, running 2.2 FW too.

  3. That's a hell of a bargain imo.

Got a 2G iPhone myself which has been unlocked by myself (have done other peoples 2G's too, for free ofc)

The thing that gets me wound up is the cheek of some companys to charge for an unlock, when you can do this by yourself for free.

All you need is the ability to read and an internet connection.

On that note, if anybody wants any help unlocking iPhones, I'm sure I can direct you to the right info needed.

  4. I understand that the time factor is important to some on here, but take a moment and think about it.

Would you rather have it done quick and rubbish or rather more time consuming but done properly?

Like Jason Statham said in Transporter 3:

"You look after your car and your car will look after you"

Like I said before, it's a terrible shame Nemesis shut shop.

Being located in Colchester, they'd have been my first choice...oh well.

  5. I had a wander around the Emma whilst she was being built in Odense. Was there about a week before the fire which destroyed her accomodation.

They are impressive pieces of kit. I sailed on the B-Class with Maersk which were pretty much a miniture version of the E-class.

If you lashed over at Trinity, I probably seen you! Been in loads on the G's and B's over the past 8 years.

    Al

We had Emmas sister ship in too once.

Been a Trinity Berth-Op for about six years now.

If you have any say in the matter of lashing gear, could you make a case to go back to the old hook-end bottlescrews as opposed to the new opentype bottle screws with one way ratchet nuts?

I used to love the hook-end ones, so much easier to lash and unlash.

Well, you should be able to pick me out easily in the winter, I usually wear a shemagh and wrap it round my head to look like a terrorist.

  6. they fit...

why not just paint the ones youve got..a lot cheaper, and retain the proper Z badge??

I like the carpet, dunno if it beats M350ZB's tho...

    Thanks,

I like the look of the genuine Nissan ones but i don't like the price!

I think i'll take a risk and order some.

I don't remember right, but I think MJP sells the genuine Nissan alu kickplates for less than OEM Nissan prices (can't check cos their online shop is not working atm).

  7. Main thing is nobody got hurt and hopefully you'll become a more observant driver as a result.

You could get that azure bumper off sunset350z, then you'd also have a carbon lip insert already fitted, all you'll need ia a respray.

That should work out cheaper, cos if you only go for the respray and purchase of bumper brakets, and re-attach the bumper yourself, that should work out alot cheaper than haveing a workshop do all the work and charging you full price.

  8. this is her

    Yup, that's the one.

I thought I saw some viper stye twin stripes on the bonnet but thought "Nah, can't be..."

My mate was parked up infront of that bistro thing where the pedestrian crossing is, I was taking some pics...

Had just got back in the car when I spotted you.

  9. That blue ship is a Norfolk Line Ro-Ro.

Landguard extension will primarily be given Maersk priority afaik.

I doubt that Hutchinson would have let Maersk take over their port, even if it's only partial.

Currently there are only some dinky cranes on Landguard, but an order for 12 cranes (I think) has been made and they will be bigger than the biggest one we currently have over at Trinity.

So it should easily cope with the likes of the Emma Maersk class vessels.

I did work on the Emma Maersk on her maiden call to Felixstowe, impressive to say the least, but 23 wide is alot of lashing!
