  1. But if you're whinging about running costs, you can't afford to buy a supercar - even a 60K GTR. End of story - there was no way something with the performance of the GTR was going to be cheap to run.

No disrespect and without sounding like a complete and utter A$$HOL£, I could afford to buy 2 of these right now, and Id still be whinging about the running costs of it. Its a Nissan, fair play to performance but service charge is a joke, which ever wealthy level you look at it

One for you one for me then?

  2. I think the biggest problem with the 370 is the 350.

If no-one had seen a 350 everyone would be loving it but being so used to the 350 shape the 370 looks like someone has gone nuts with the drag tool in Photochop.

Like everyone says though in real life it's a different story. Same thing with lots of wheels I've seen.

  3. Thanks for all your advice guys. The boot release under the strut (and diagram) was a great help as my gear the in car (sails, mast and boom) blocked access to the boot from the inside.

In the end I smashed the passenger window (had glass insurance) a full 3 days after the event.

Car was locked because I must have pressed lock button on fob with cold+numb thumb.

Neither AA nor locksmith could break into it (c. 2hours each spent on this). Got tow home, arriving back at 2am still in wetsuit to bewildered girlfriend. Master key was incorrectly cut by Nissan!!

Advice - check your master keys...haven't taken mine back to Nissan yet for replacement but will do.

FYI - I used a Handirack (blow-up roof rack) strapped around boot on which windsurfer was strapped. Good for over 70mph, but after half dozen goes is starting to wear the paint on the spoiler.

Cheers for a cracking (and quick to respond) forum!

Wow, remember the good old days where you'd pop a Slim Jim down the door, lift the button and be inside within a minute?! erm..me neither :ninja::lol:

At least you can take solace in the fact that no-ones nicking the Zed in a hurry!

  4. I forgot Marshall Bravestarr, He-Man, Jen, She-Ra, Go-Bots, Ultraman, G.I.Joe.....

    Jason and the wheeled warriors....

yeah, mentioned him on my other post....hehe

Omg Jayce was my favourite cartoon ever! :yahoo:

I watched the intro online the other day and felt like I was about 8 again!

Thundering across the stars to save the universe from the monster minds.....

Looking back though I think Herc's car needs lowering.

  5. Watched TD for the first time last night and yeah the drift sequences are awesome as are the cars but the film itself... OMG what a load of crap!! Plot anyone? script written by a 13yr old perhaps? .....Toilet!!

They're all like that! You've got to love the cars though...........

The F&F films crack me up. I used to be into the kinda underground scene in Brum years ago. Anyone who's ever been involved with street racing will know what I'm on about:

In the films: All the cars are badass worth 40K+, it's beautiful weather, the women are all models or Japanese schoolgirls and no-one worries much about crashing or police until a chase scene. :#1:

In reality: Most cars are £1000 sheds with stuck on spoilers, it's probably p1ssing it down, the women are all a mess and the whole thing gets moved on by the cops very quickly. :bangin:

Good escapism is the way to describe it I guess!

  6. Come on phil its about time you got a zed!!! sort it out mate :p

haha, It's not for lack of trying mate. I've been saving my nuts off for months now and I just keep seeing my money worth less and less

It's ridiculous just how hard it is to get the money together but I'm doing my best. Soon....

  7. What is the for your consideration bit about, because I too was watching a reviewers copy of a film the other day and this popped up now and then. :teeth:

That comes up on the bits the film company would most like clips to be taken from or reviews to be based on.

Just a way of them drawing attention to particularly impressive or emotional scenes for the critics.

  8. I've watched a...uhmmm..."reviewers" version of "Fast & Furious" and I think whoever scripted the opening sequence (i.e. the the first 10 mins or so) must have been a Zed driver.

You'll see what I mean when you see it...

    "For your consideration"

    or

"The film you are watching is a promotional copy, if you purchased this film at a retail store please contact 1-800-I AM A PIRATE to report it."

    ?

  9. Just wondering if anyone uses Games for Windows live or plays GTA4 online?

I saw the Xbox gamer tags but is there any PC people?

Had a few races on GTA4 online last night and it's a thoroughly entertaining and hilarious experience! :drive1

Lets get some of the Zed guys together to whup some noobs!

My username is "FourFingersPhil" if anyone wants to add me.

    Nice one

  10. Having spent a lot of time around young lads of a certain age (my son and his mates) I can see that for them it was mainly an issue of street cred, showing off and wanting to have the fastest car. I know for a fact that the ones who could afford to drive Type R's and other sporty cars would show off and also let their mates have a go to see what it was like. Out of all the lads my son grew up with he is the only one that never crashed his car at some point after his test and shall I tell you why? Because I was the only mean parent that made him pay for his own lessons, his own test, his own car and his own insurance in HIS OWN NAME. His mates all had their parents as main drivers on their cars and one even got points for speeding which his father took for him! My son knew exactly what it would cost him if he crashed his car and was therefore a lot more careful. It meant nothing to the others who just got bailed out by their parents time and time again.

    Good for you Nixy!

My folks did the same to me back in the day, I had to pay my own way and it gives you a real sense of money.

  11. If there's one thing I've learned its that governments will do what's best for themselves not the public.

Don't get me wrong they will be seen to overtly condemn reckless driving and powerful cars but young drivers get flashed by speed cameras = more money, get pulled by cops and fined = more money, pay more for road tax on performance cars = more money. Even the insane insurance premiums are contributing to the economy and are probably taxable from the companies.

It's a little like smoking. The government condemn it, say it's a terrible health risk but then make over £9 billion a year from Tobacco revenue.

Don't be fooled folks, they have to be seen to be doing something about it but while they can financially rape motorists little will change.

    Phew political rant over... :rant::sweat:

  12. I worked at Halfords for 6 years on Audio/Styling and we'd get stuff returned by customers that we HAD to throw out and write off even though they were perfectly salvageable! :scare:

Worst I saw was a special order Kenwood head unit worth 400quid that had a dodgy display. - Because it wasn't normal stock when returned we had to throw it out AND smash it up to make sure no-one had it out of the skips out back! Was very painful.... :byebye:

I think you are the first honest Halfords employee I have heard off. At my local, they chuck it in the skip and salvage it later ;) No point wasting it!

    Haha, probably.

The supervisors used to watch us to make sure we smashed the stuff up properly cus a few guys had been fired for half-inching the stuff out of the skip.

Every swing of that hammer used to bring tears to my eyes....

  13. Very nice chap. I have the same one but in the pro range (same but with BB runners). They are very useful, I'm now looking for more tools to fill mine with now though

A little hint for anyone that knows people that works in Halfords. When these thing get damaged, they sell them off to staff for next to nothing. Mine has a dent in it and for what was a £140 chest, I got it for £30 and only that high because I wasnt staff! :ninja:

May be super cheap for staff cus they get 10% discount.

Plus goods written off as FAGO (Faulty - I can't remember what it stands for) are only able to be A.sold to staff, B.Thrown away, or C. Returned to HQ

It's to do with it being illegal to sell faulty goods under the normal Halfords regulations or something.
