  1. Hey guys n gals,

I have searched high and low - does anyone know where I could get some plain Stainless steel or maybe brushed aluminium disks of 40mm diameter?

(and about 2-3mm thick) for use as a wheel centre.

My Bro's birthday is coming up and I wanted to get some custom logos etched for the wheels on his Mini. They are a real annoying size being 40mm cus most wheels use about 50-55.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  2. I could go on all day about films and I usually do  (especially cus I review them occasionally for a friends magazine/website) but the first Terminator movies (Cameron ones) are vastly superior to the later ones.

Despite being a sci fi film the early ones have a kind of terrifying believability and the Terminators are much more threatening for their lack of compromise. You couldn't fight them in normal terms because they were unstoppable and that's what made the cat-and-mouse chases more frantic and engaging.

    *Spoilers*

The new one especially seems to have the Connor slug it out for hours with them. Why didn't the terminator just snap his neck is a second? Or why didn't they just just kill Reese when they caught him? No more Reese, no more Connor!

Anyway that's my rant over. I would say though anyone that likes the old ones would better appreciate the series. It's not fast but much more thoughtful and the terminators are genuinely brutal. If you've seen the moment when a major character gets killed at the end of the second season without so much as a blink from the T888 you'll know what I mean. :scare::evil:

  3. Seriously mate I wouldn't even jump straight onto an R6.

Your first few months on a bike will be spent either feeling incredibly smug ;) (Traffic? What traffic) or completely terrified. :scare:

I learned and rode a 125 for like a year and it was immense fun, an amazing feeling and still reasonably quick if you've never been into bikes.

I would say if you'd never driven a car before a Zed would be way too much too soon- start off small. The same goes for bikes!

  4. I'd buy a couple of motors but probably sink much of the money into property to make more! :#1:

As ridiculous as it sounds 3 mil+ is really when you can start to live the millionaire lifestyle. A mil or 2 isn't what it used to be.

If I had enough cash I would have a mahoosive underground garage/workshop like Tony Stark in Ironman. I could work on my cars/bikes by day and be a superhero at night!

  6. Depending on how obsessed you are with the car you could easily get a Z in there by having Zoe or Zara something! Plus I reckon having a Z in your initials will always get folks asking.

    NZP - Nixy Zed Power!

    (Cool badge for the back!)

Change the car in future? - No probs just change the name again!:#1:

I'm disappointed ... I was expecting you to suggest some random Star Wars character name !?!;)

I was trying to hold back but since you ask...

Leia, Mara, Jaina, Syall , Myri, Callista, Danni, Padme, Tenel, Jysella, Lumyia, Oola, Tia, Jan, Kreia, Tionne, Aurra, Qwi, Sintas, Ailyn or my personal fav Mallatobuck - (Chewie's wife!)

To name but a few that I could remember

  7. Don't get too disheartened mate.

I recently picked up my Zed for the kinda money you're talking and it's only done 30k - great condition. ( Although I was lucky and had to fight off a few others for it)

The key is patience. These ones do come around but they're few and far between so check around and follow Autotrader, PH as often as poss. (Don't forget 'for sale' on here).

My advice is if you are planning to change the wheels or interior then don't bother spending loads on a full GT. Put the money towards low mileage, unmodded versions.

    Good luck anyway

  8. Yeah I have to agree with those that weren't keen on it.

I was pretty disappointed. It wasn't a bad film but it was just a by-the-numbers action movie rather than the quality action and tension of the first 2 movies.

It's a shame cus Terminator is a good franchise and I really like the series but this was a bit too much. *Spoilers*...

Anyone else wonder why the Terminator fighting John Connor kept chucking him around instead of just snapping his neck?! And how did he survive an iron bar through the chest?!

Thats the problem really - the old Terminator films were quite scary cus you COULDN'T fight them, they were unstoppably killing machines, ruthless and efficient. The new ones are a bit cheesy.

    *Rant/Spoilers over*

  9. Hello Star Wars Nirvana!

You may have guessed that I am a bit of a Star Wars fan. So when I found out Bioware were doing another game in the Knights of the Old Republic era I was pretty damn excited!

Then I saw this trailer. SWEET MOTHER OF YODA - This is better than the prequel films!

Come the release of this I may never be seen again...

    :starwars::yahoo:

  10. Dave, did you say you were getting the wiper blank painted? If so there are a few others available that are a bit more "flush". Andy gave me one that he had which I am happy to share where it came from, it is rubber though so may not paint too well but it is black!

Also worth looking in is B&Q's plumbing dept as there will be ones that will fit flusher to the body, look in the toilet fittings section for a blanking plate!

I will check out b&q tomorrow

Hey mate, Just noticed this thread cus I was thinking of de-wipering the back of mine too.

Did you find a decent blanking grommit thingy while rummaging around the toilets in B+Q?!

If so what size etc was it?

    Nice one.

I can do this for you if you can wait till the weekend. I have the grommets which work well.

Sounds like a plan  . Hopefully it will be sunny cus I have some new badges to put on too. (Cheers Asad - nice quality)
