Ok so when youve got the wheel and plastic wing proctector off this is what you faced with. If you have the version without the headlight washers then you have a easy job as can now change the reflector with 2 x screws. If you have the washers then the washer bottle is in your way as pictured and its time to get your fingers and wrists scuffed up! The washer bottle has 1 bolt at the top of the bottle and 2 nuts to the aide holding it to the car. Once these are removed you can then slide the washer bottle out the way allowing you access to the reflector. 2 screws are holding the reflector in which is easily removed.

I finished all my jobs early today so got back home with some daylight and decided to change the smashed reflector and took some pics while at it. So here's a guide to changing the reflector without taking the bumper off. In total took around an hour. 1. First thing is to crack off all bolts, then lift the car and then remove wheel. (Not essential but alot easier to work with the wheel off) 2.These are the upper clips. You only need to release the centre pin to remove the clip not all the way out and then just push back in to lock the clip once done. 3.You only need to remove the front section of the plastic protector. A few clips and some bolts which can either use a Philips screwdriver or 10mm socket

Well guys, I can honestly say i am loving the car. I love a drivers car with decent feedback and a fair bit of grunt and think i have really met my match! I know im still in honeymoon period but damn, nissan did themselves proud with this one! Last time i felt like this about a vehicle was when i first passed my bike test and (stupidly some might say but hey) jumped straight onto a 2yr old R6. Everyone i knew i would bore to death with how it felt, what it was like, spec's etc etc and you know what i have been looking for that feeling again for a long time and might just have found it with the Zed! I hate this weather, especially as ive allready had to rinse her off 3 times in less than a week But mainly i just want to get out there and have a real nice fast road blast! Had it serviced today and everything came back fine, which although under warranty its still nice to know everything is all good!

Sorry to hear that dude, glad you are ok though! It has been super slippy out there Best thing you can do is right now start copying details of adverts similar to your car for condition, spec age etc. Especially if there are any expensive ones that are not as good as yours was. Then if the insurance acomes back with a shite offer you can contest it with evidence! The reason i say now as if it takes a few weeks for them to get their act together then prices may have dropped even further. (i doubt it due to economy but you never know) The main reason being the march new plate will reduce them a few hundred etc I think it does depend who your insured with as well. I was insured on a 172 clio a few years ago and that to my and everone else's shock was written off. I got a really impressive offer from direct line which i didnt even hesitate at accepting and managed to get a lower mileage, 12 month newer exmaple! Remember you can refuse their first offer and they will normally up it if you can prove you cannot buy one like yours for the money they offer! Also if you have any eveidence of recent service, tyres, etc etc will all help when dealing with the adjuster.

Right asked the guy from parts when i went to pick it up and he showed me the details as he didnt know what it was either. The unit is designed to sit in your glove box and be hardwired into your airel so that it plays through a certain freqency with no interfeence etc. £70.00 for a half arsed solution im sure you can buy non nissan versions of this far cheaper????

Ok well there nothing i could find on Nissan's website for any further information. Mines in for P2 service today so will ask when i pick her up and let you all know. Although you know what their knowledge can be like sometimes

Couple newbie questions? What is the MP3 connector from nissan??? http://www.nissan.co.uk/home/vehicles/s ... ?ln=/en_GB Ive read loads here about them not fitting but what head units if any allow a mp3 connection? I have a 07 roadster GT with the bose and sat nav if that helps?

Mines in tommorrow P2 on 18k, spoke to Nissan and they quoted £281.00 inc vat for the whole lot! Which i didnt think was too bad??? Just wondered why eveyone is suppying their own oil, is this due to cost charged by nissan for it or for any other reason? It's an 07 plate, as i mentioned on 18k, I know the rears need replacing but i got a friend on the case sourcing those. But anything else i can expect to come up thats not standard service items?

Pictured is the only thing spoiling my new baby right now Im sure its a very simple changover But anything i need to do / be aware of when changing over the reflector on the front bumper. She finally arrived last night and the only thing that i could fault (and im super fussy) is the N/S reflector so should have a new one arriving at nissan in the morning! Havent even looked at the bumper yet so just after a heads up is it a simple change over? or does loads need to come off to get to it?

Just wondering, what tyres would everyone go for if all tyres were the same price???? Ive currently got 4x bridgestones but rears need replacing and read that the main problem is grip in the cold/wet. Just wondering which is considered the true best all rounder for the 350Z????

Mixing tyres front and back on a bike is an absolute No No. Different tyre tempratures, grip, feel etc etc can cause all sorts of problems and lead to a lowside or highside etc It would be felt alot more when on two wheels but the theory is going to be the same! My theory is an extra couple of tyres (the cost of a few tanks of fuel) may save your life. Is it worth mixing sets at the end of the day?? JMO

Neil, there was a guy on ebay selling genuine nissan parts from a dealership closure I got a set of Brand New Nissan 350Z mats for £35.00 delivered! Bought them friday arrived yesterday and are what they say on the tin! Nissan wanted £77 or something or other. I'll look up his id if you want mate as i remember reading him saying to contact him if theres anything else you want / need thats not listed!

Well inspection all done Now DVLA have the ability at the local office to issue a new plate and stamped green slip, i then send off new details and get the whole reg back with new plate and all details on! All done right??? No Just coz they can does'nt mean they will, standard processing allow 7-10 days The dealership visit the local dvla office everyday so are going to ask the question till we get it. Now hoping for Fri / Sat. If i dont collect it then im off to US for 5 days with work so the misses will have the pleasure before me

The price difference could vary vastly but then so could the quality of the work, best to give a reputable bodyshop a call. I know it may seem cheap now but think of this. Do you really want a car thats had a full respray and finance issues when you come to sell it. You may know youve only had vandal scratches but if i seen a car that had a full respray when i was buying and then ex finance issues on a hpi id walk. Personally i think it will probably cost you just as much as it would buying one thats mint. JMO ofcourse!

I would'nt count on them continuing to drop. I bought a seat leon cupra when they were about 6 months from the newer model coming in. List was 18600 or something and i got it for just under 14. Soon as they sold the excess stock and demand was back the price was right back up there (just as my mate decided he wanted one lol , luckily i do some work for the dealership and knew a few guys so managed to get him one too) It took about 12 months for 2nd hand cars to get down the price i paid. I know the market is different now but sometimes you just got to bite the bullet! Your always going to loose money but if you can limit that amount then all is better!

I would think (well hope) that Nissan UK would take this very seriously. Did you contact them Neil? I would mention you are a member of this forum and it raised serious question about members taking their cars to Nissan. I know its an area manufacturers can get awkward about but it is law that you have the right to have your car serviced by any garage you choose as long as approved parts and standard service guidelines are adhered to etc etc Dealers are doing their utmost to keep their customers due to this and i would just use it as a damn good place to air your frustrations and leverage to see what you can get out of them! I would just say that the word on here is most are considering not using Nissan due to this and hop they can resolve this issue. Stuff like this makes me mad! Just think of all those old folk driving their Micra's that would have believed them!

I agree, definetly appears to be a power jack for something? What would you want right over the other side of the car though i dont know Unless T8 is onto something with the tax disc ariel, i dunno!

Hi Guys New to the forum, had an awsome welcome in the newbie section and didnt expect to ask for any favours so soon but... Just purchased a 07 Plate Gunmetal roadster One of the 3 minimal things i need to sort is the front N/S Reflector is cracked CS suggested i post up a wanted on here so thought i would incase anyone does'nt want / require thiers. No worries if not as there cheap enough from Nissan (£11+ vat) but would prefer to buy one of you guys a pint or so if ever our paths cross. Or let me know what you want for it? Thanks
