  1. You lot are all taking the **** but this technology does actually work! Ford are developing just this item, the company I worked for where asked to quote for building an electric pressurised airbox a year ago so you may see this soon on a production car. I would be a bit sceptical of an ebay one with no mention of changes to fuel maps!
  2. Mine does the 1st to 2nd cold thing too. The colder the gearbox is the less co-operative it is...........1st to 2nd jus won't go It's fine after a couple of miles
  3. Hi there!!!! Exactly why I don't like convertables. Spent 2 weeks in California last year with a hired Mustang convertable and really only enjoyed having the roof down on 2 days, it was either too noisy due to freeway driving, too hot or too cold. Pray for good weather, I do all the time, don't think he listens
  4. I just bought a set for £195 off someone else after looking for cheaper ones for weeks Typical.
  5. I would recommend a 115bhp TDCI focus Zetec, I had 5 foci, 2 115 TDCI's where great, nice sporty suspension, 45mpg and go well, group 5 insurance. The ST170 I had was crap, crashy ride, it bottomed out on roads you could tear down in the TDCI and 25-30mpg. The petrol focus is hard to run if the anual mileage is high.
  6. Daily for me but if the weathers poo and I've just cleaned the Z I'll take the wife's GTTDI...........................married without kids so don't really need a back seat;)
  7. No idea what it's worth neodc..............depends how much someone wants it. Wish my V1 had of been pre-painted cause I would have saved £211 on the painting and fitting and fitted it myself.
  8. The standard spoiler uses 2 bolt holes and is sealed down with sticky foam around the edge about 10mm wide. The nismo V1 needs 4 bolt holes so the same original 2 bolt holes are used but 2 new ones must be drilled infront of the originals and then some more double sided sticky tape.
  9. Geekman can you let me know how you rate the GY F1's on the car and confirm you are going for 235/40 and 255/40, I will need tyres soon on the back and if the upcoming DRAG & DRIFT day at Bishopscourt get my entry sooner
  10. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0311713454 Would be lovely with the badges
  11. I didn't buy them so I can't looseB)
  12. Think pimm's response is  However you guys are tearing the ass out of these badges.........I seriously think they are OK but I like my car to look fairly standard so they came off.
  13. So they may not be everyones taste but............ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0311708898

  15. I thought................... Think I could do all that with a 1/10 R/C car but for real!!!! Could never get the place the car or the tyres to even try! Very impressive.
  16. On most of the time unless I want some fun when the road is wide and the traffic is light! The ESP is a pain sometimes though as is cuts in after you have applied opposite lock and as you then are heading for the hedge you need to get the opposite lock off fast . I find the Z very slippery at the back though even in 3rd gear in the wet so I just suffer the dumb ESP. Like the look of Ferrari's traction control with 5 settings, I'd like that!
  17. :rant:The design of the laughable boot.......surely a back seat could have been stuck in there, even a bad one! Really that's the only plus the RX-8 has on the Z A crap back seat like the 911 / 944 / 968 / Tvr Cerbera would do!
  18. Though I just noticed 235/40R18 is there which would be fine on the front and the previous owner of my car obviously thought 255/40R18 would be fine on the back cause thats whats on it.
  19. Well that's that then:lol: 225/35ZR18 225/40ZR18 235/40ZR18 235/50ZR18 235/50R18 245/35ZR18 245/45ZR18 245/50ZR18 255/40R18 255/45ZR18 255/55R18 275/40ZR18 The standard size for the Z is not available:rant:
  20. Don't mean to butt in but as far as I know GOODYEAR EAGLE F1's are the best sports road tyre in the wet and 1 of the best in the dry, I think they are cheaper than Bridgestone or Michelin too. If I wanted the best that's what I would buy. P.S. About 8 years ago I was recommended Falken's (I can't remember the number) for a new Impreza Turbo, they where absolute rubbish! I new this as I had an Impreza before and it had Dunlops on it. One good thing about the Falkens was they where so hard I did 2 track days on them and you would not have known (I'm not a slow driver) but on the road crap, really crap. I left the car in for it's first service and the mechanic took it a drive, when he came back he said the car was fine but the tyres where terrible. :scare:I took them off after 1000 miles and put GOODYEAR EAGLE F1's on and the car was transformed. :yahoo:Since this I have a big fear of bad tyres on a good car...................bad tyres will ruin a good car
  21. See originally I was thinking of a carbon spoiler at £350 and not painting it but then I thought an all carbon spoiler looked a bit dodgy, shire's car is LOVELY with the carbon V1 but the bottom of it's painted (my car's gunmetal too). The other thing is I don't like putting money into extras that ad very little ££Â£'s to the car as I'm a bit fickel and may not keep it too long so don't want to waste cash! P.S. fitted a plenum spacer and it seems to give a few bhp and a wee improvement on mpg but I intend to report in depth on this once I get a week or two's driving in it. Thanks for the response so far. :)Members make a forum what it is:)
  22. I've bought a Nismo V1 spoiler in fibeglass off Phil at ESR and I've had 2 quotes to fit and paint it..............£200 and £210, both are good bodyshops but I am shocked at the price. That's a pretty expensive wing! £450 I might have been better buying the carbon one and not painting it What sort of rent should it be???? Thanks
  23. Would be interested in the spacers, can I have second dibs on them please? Then you can tell me how much!
  24. Well I just tell how it is, if you don't like it the alternative is a £££££ but I like the standard air box, looks like it was made for the Z You can always tape up the holes again or buy a new box! All you are doing buy putting an induction kit on is removing the box that silences the induction noise.
