  1. In a new showroom along Park Lane - although the place had no branding or names to it (yet)... :cloud9:

    There were:

    3 Zondas,

    1 Koenigsegg

    1 Murcielago

    1 XBow

    1 Spyker

    1 Merc SL65 AMG black

    Enjoy!

Also spotted one of the best plates ever... B)

Went outside the Dorchester Hotel expecting the usual horde of Veyrons and Lambo's but all that was parked up was a few mercs and a Prius! George Clooney must have been in town.

  2. God damn country - ASBO should be called a SOTW (Slap on the wrist) if you can get one for just pulling away too quickly!

Total joke of a system (it doesn't count towards any criminal convictions) - so basically it is just a slap on the wrist.

I wouldn't be bothered by it TBH - it doesn't actually do anything (it's like getting a parking ticket, you done wrong but oh well).

I can't believe you can get branded something without going to court!

  3. I applaud your generosity, however could this not back fire?! :headhurt:

You may end up with a million random people and could get out of control. I wouldn't put your mobile number or address on the forum (only takes one person to ruin the fun - thieves can operate on car forums even if they don't post). Not suggesting anyone with a zed is up for being a prat but it only has to leak on to facebook and your screwed.

    Just my opinion and all...

Try and get people to PM you for location and contact details and in return phone them to confirm if they will be attending.

Well done though for trying to sort something out. :)

  4. You can't get an ASBO based on purely word of mouth - you have to go to court with evidence against you and even then you'd have to be a serious pain in the @ss to others around you to be branded with one. Otherwise everyone would be on the phone trying to get individuals they don't like with a criminal record.

It sounds like its either a couple of old biddies thinking anyone that drives 5mph over the speed limit is a boy racer and they have nothing else to do but moan or it could be someone with a grudge and trying to get their own back.

If I called the Police in my area and reported things like this, they would tell me they are far too busy with better things to do and maybe (if I'm lucky) turn up a week later if they could be bothered. SOunds like the village plod has got bored of chasing ducks in the park and has nothing else to do.

If the Police turn up again, be polite and say its getting beyond a joke and that you weren't doing anything dangerous - just overtaking within the limit. Unless they have videos or speed camera evidence (or they themselves) see anything illegal then nothing can be done.

  5. I think the experience outside the car is just as important as being in it tbh. This is probably why Porsche sell so many cars - Ok, their cars are great but if you also top it up with a service from people who are enthusiastic about the machines and know everything and all about them then you'll be much more comfortable and relaxed (hence enjoy it more).

Its like inviting someone for dinner. No matter how great the dinner is, if the atmosphere is bad then it'll be a bad experience.

  6. To be honest don't worry about the brand so much - its only the company that stuck it all together in a plastic case and branded it.

All the internal hardware is made by specialist companies such as ATI and Intel, etc. Go for the spec sheet. If your just an average user then don't go for top whack - it's unlikely you'll use all its potential unless playing a seriously top graphical game. Normal stuff like browsing t'internet, etc is a doddle for any machine. Make sure you get Windows Home Professional (not basic / starter).

You also get a lot more for your money if it were a PC than a laptop - but you obviously can't take it anywhere.

  7. I'm looking for a set of new Volk Racing Locking nuts (black) that will fit my zed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I think the fitment is 1.25

Also, are there are super amazing locking nuts that are considered really hard to get off without a key? I know given time and know how any wheel will come off but I want to keep them locked on as best as I can. :)

  8. Hi chaps.

I have a nice map going for road tunnels in the UK due to threads posted on various forums. What I am looking to do is sort out a London tunnel run around June / July for us zeds (hopefully when we can have windows down and it's nice and warm).

I've kind of figured out the route and will be testing it, so it covers most tunnels in London and you'll also get to see some famous landmarks along the way. This post is really seeing how much interest this could attract and any opinions. I obviously can't please everyone (i.e. some will be on holiday, etc) and no dates have been confirmed yet.

As far as I am aware, there hasn't been a zed tunnel run for a long time so this will be something a bit different. I'm looking to do this in the evening on a Saturday - so when the roads are a little clearer so we don't end up in a traffic jam and avoid conjestion charge.

We will obviously be representing the 350z-uk club (not the Saxo and Corsa forums), so I don't need to remind everyone that I want it to be kept sensible; lots of noise, blasts through the tunnels, turn lots of heads, put some smiles on a few faces and it will be a good night. NO racing or showing off (there is so much around you that you probably can't go very fast anyway) - London is very busy even out of hours and has more cameras and Police than you can shake a stick at. It is also important to note that pedestrians are everywhere (often drunk at night, so we need our sensible hats on).

I have no idea how many are interested in this. I am confident it will go ahead with more details to be released in the future. I really don't want it getting out of hand with a million cars turning up (so no inviting friends of friends etc unless they have a zed), yet at the same time we obviously want a great atmosphere with like minded people. :)

Members will no doubt be coming from all directions, so what I will do is sort out a place in or around London for everyone to meet (Dartford has Lakeside and Bluewater car parks nearby plus the famous tunnel to start with).

I've never organised a meet before but you have to start somewhere...:) I also don't want loads of people getting lost (driving in London is a stressful place, especially if you don't know it) - hence possibly restricting numbers.

Ideas of dates and starting times? Should I restrict numbers (first 20 to commit and sign up)? What if we broke into groups with a 'leader'? Who is interested? Anyone fancy helping me out?

  9. What was the max amount of mods allowed?

5 items - although instead of putting "front spoiler, rear spoiler," etc I put bodykit (rolls it up into one).

Some are really vague - such as interior (I really can do anything to my interior, since I ticked the box saying it has interior changes. It doesn't go into detail as to what they are).

I checked with Bell and they said it is all OK. :)

  10. haha yeah the tiles are from the mk stadium

    im from bletchley

if you all close to mk then lets get together and do some shoots

im still new with my slr but im sure you lot can give me some good tips!

yeah, the rear is definately my favourite part of my car

i want to get new wheels, but would it need spacers? cos im thinkin of getting spacers fitted on saturday

if i wont need spacers, i might aswell jus invest in wheels

    what you guys think? :D

My BBS wheels for sale don't need spacers and would look good on your zed. Plus you can pick them up this weekend since your close. Be quick - they are also on eBay and bidding ends on Friday (there are watchers).

When the weather perks up, I'll try and arrange a meet since there are quite a few of us in the MK area. :)

  11. If you get the quote and then call up Bell they will change it to 2002. I done this and got £30 off the quote.

Your quote looks really expensive - are you leaving it on the street in a dodgy area or something? Have you tried putting a female on your insurance as well?

  12. Got a great renewal quote from Bell insurance - no one could get close.

    £830 for 12 months, protected. £600 excess

    25 Years old

5 years no claims & clean license,

    All mods declared & covered

    Garaged

8000 miles a year (doubt i'll use them all)

Sky came up with around £1100 and Chris Knott refused to insure me because I was 2 months away from owning the zed for a full year.

I have maxed out my mods list though - Bell will refuse to insure me if I have any more mods. :p

Hey ho, I'm happy until next year. :)
