RS8055 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Hi guys, I've noticed there has been little to no activity on the European thread for trips/meets. Is anyone planning anything for this year? The ring maybe? Or anything similar? 1 Quote

yankeesiter Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I've already been to Monte Carlo in April taking in the Route de Napoleon and the Col Ventoux. Next road trip is end of June to the Pyrenees. The August to the Black Forest And then in September back to the Pyrenees 1 Quote
RS8055 Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 Blackforest trip looks like you'll be passing through past me in Luxembourg (if you fancy a rest stop?) Quote
yankeesiter Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Quite possibly we could. We are passing through Luxembourg to our stop at Metz. Depends on timing. Quote
Brummiestormer Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Ah nice! You going in a group? Or by yourself? Just me and the ball and chain Quote
mbs Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 This years it's Hull/Zeebrugge ferry then down to Burgandy, through the Loire Valley finishing in Normandy before ferry back home. Quote
RS8055 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Yeah, you can stop at Disneyland too as it's on the way if you like! Quote
TT350 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I'm trying to persuade the missus to let us drive to Portugal around September time. Rent a villa that sleeps 8 or so? Could be an idea? Bbqs and beer round the villa and a nice gathering of Z's! Quote
RS8055 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 I'm already going to Portugal in July for 2 weeks... unfortunately for fuel economy purposes I have to leave the Zed behind and drive the missus 1.2 Corsa!!!! I think I might kill myself on the way down out of boredom! Quote

RS8055 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 You ever tried driving it to Portugal? (and back again for that matter)! haha Quote
TT350 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 You ever tried driving it to Portugal? (and back again for that matter)! haha Nope. But I love a challenge lol! I've driven across America in a crappy purple dodge neon with broken air con though Quote
RS8055 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Was the purple your choice of colour? haha I suppose speed was your air con in the end! Quote
TT350 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Was the purple your choice of colour? haha I suppose speed was your air con in the end! It was the cheaper option lol. I wish I'd known how cheap fuel was there at the time. I woukd have gone for something much more fun and thirsty. Well in Arizona when I wound the window down, the air coming I'm was hotter than the air already in the car. It was a 130 bhp auto Quote
RS8055 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Ohhh auto... ouch! Wind down windows too? Awesome.... haha Quote
TT350 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Ohhh auto... ouch! Wind down windows too? Awesome.... haha Yep. The boot was jammed shut too. I still don't know if there was a dead body in there or not. Quote
350zroadsterGT Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I've already been to Monte Carlo in April taking in the Route de Napoleon and the Col Ventoux. Next road trip is end of June to the Pyrenees. The August to the Black Forest And then in September back to the Pyrenees Nice, we did the western pyranees 3 years ago and the eastern side and Andorra 2 years before that, enjoy.. The roads are great Quote
yankeesiter Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 What timing! I'm here now in Ceret close to Perpignan and the Spanish border. Tomorrow over to Platja d'Aro for a couple of days then back westward as per the map (more or less). Then a couple of months to let the engine cool down and then the two other trips mentioned above. Wish you were here, MrT and Wendy. Quote
mbs Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Just got back from our 2 week trip around France, impressed with the mpg, 1,950 miles, average speed 42.6mph and 28.6mpg, don't you just love those French roads. Quote
yankeesiter Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Yeah, I think the roads in France are good too, but today I crossed into Spain at Le Perthus and the N11 made the car seem like it was floating. I've experienced what you have in both countries. Fantastic. I only pay my road tax for 6 months just to get my car out of Britain. Quote
