Can you identify this road/area in Wales for driving.

Hi,

I'm taking the car over that way soon. Going to Cardiff to get the exhaust done.

While there, I'm going to drive around, I saw this road and I want to do what this guy is doing, get up early and drive around so it looks just right for me.

Im pretty sure its the A4069 from Llangadog to Brynamman, over the Black mountain.

 

but there are loads of decent roads in south wales, should be a good day if the weather is nice!

This is Top Gear's favourite shooting route in the UK, the Black Mountains. Among other things, the most famous episode was the Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black, and an early episode of Ford Focus RS.

A search for "A4069 from Llangadog to Brynamman" returns a listing that references the clip being that road.

It's also listed on another as being a best biking road! I'll be there for sure.

How good is that CLK63 AMG Black?! One day....

Any other recommendations welcome.

I was up there at the weekend as well, as I only live 10 mile from Llangadog.

Most probably that road, especially where he's parked up at the top.

unbelievable drive.

Wales is some biker dreamland as well. SO many bikes there and all over the southern area..

have done more than 50 days on tracks all over the place on the bike but don't know whether my brain could handle that road!!!, maybe the N-S - and slowly but going back S-N route is scary!

Whilst very pretty and quite winding it's not particularly long, so it's probably better including it in part of a longer trip tbh.
