mouthwash Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Yep, I have 265/40 on an 11" tyre and it looks fine and 235/40 on a 9.5" front. edit: Or did, as the wheels are now for sale Edited April 5, 2015 by mouthwash Quote
Swiftyy Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Why is it to me the 40 profile looks a lot bigger than a 35 profile? Lol. Those are Ash's rears from Instagram and imo look perfect Quote
Swiftyy Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Found some falkens on black circles 235/40R18W and 275/40R18W rear. 285's in a 40 profile is £450 a tyre lmao! Quote
Jetpilot Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Just been price matching between the 2 and oponeo was cheaper on most but got a bargain with tyre leader, £82 for 235/40 Federal 595RSR Quote
Swiftyy Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 Just been on Oponeo and they have a lot more different tyres to choose from. Kumho for £360 a set, £445 for Falken 453's. I've got the kunhos on the rear now and can't fault them but heard good stuff about the 453's. That's 245 front 285 rear which both is just 10 below the recommended minimum size of 10j and 12j rims so in theory should just be a little bit of stretch Quote
KyleR Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Don't stagger too much front-rear because the TCS will have a fit! Widths wont affect it though, so long as you keep the rolling diameter within reason Widths will affect it, if he were do fit some of the sizes being thrown about here. 50mm+ stagger is too much unless the profile of the front tyres is larger. Swiftyy Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015 I'm now looking at 235 front 275 rear so looking at a little more stretch now to try keep the arch gap at a minimum but rubbing minimum also Quote
KyleR Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Use this website to select tyres as close as possible to OEM sizes - http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html Quote
Bluestrike Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Tyre profiles are not measured in mm. They are a 'percentage' of the tyre width. Eg, a 265x35x18 tyre will mean the height of the tyre is 35% of 265mm. Hope that helps. 1 Quote
