Issues with opening passenger door

when opening from the outside it can (sometimes) be quite difficult - it opens perfectly normally from inside

 

pulling the handle needs to be done at a specific point and angle ..... sort of

 

and its intermittent

 

suggestions on what might be causing it and how I can fix it

Mine also does this. All my two door cars have eventually done something similar. I put it down to the doors being that much heavier than four door car doors, I think they drop a bit over time.

It might be nothing to do with that though. Just thought I'd mention it

Could be the inner rod. Would need the door panel removed to check the activation is not coming adrift or catching.

lift the door from the bottom leading edge when open and see if there is up n down movement there, if so, your door is dropping. You then need to look at the hinge pins or the hinges themselves.

sadly no - though saying that it very rarely does it now - very intermittent thingy

Had a look earlier put copper grease in the latch seems better though the door looks a few mm low
