Hi all

Am I correct in thinking that you don't need a code for the stereo if you disconnect the battery as it is paired to the ecu

nope! mine is original to the zed and I needed the code! I think I remember reading it wipes if disconnected more than 2 hours but don't quote me on that.( I had mine disconnected for at least half a day when it happened to me. just got the serial off the back of the HU and rang Nissan for the code.

My zed's cabin electronics screwed up when I short circuit'ed whilst fitting LED lights and I had disconnected the battery more than 10 times trying to reset my zed. Never need to enter code into my original Bose HU. Not sure why some zed needs a code tho? Mine's a UK GT model. I wonder if that can function can be turned off hence it won't ask for code when battery is disconnected.
