Engine management and ESP light

Howdee everyone.

I was going for one of my smile inducing drives today when suddenly it went from smiles to brown trousers! I pulled up at a shop to grab a drink and then got back into my car, firstly the car took a little longer start (which I have found in the forums to be a dirty throttle body) and secondly the engine management light, ESP OFF light and the little light showing the car skidding all come on and wont turn off! (I have tried turning the ESP back on)

I have just booked it in for a full nissan service where they said they would have a look but this isnt till next week. Has anyone had a similar experience or know why this is happening just so that I dont spend the next week panicking?

thanks

First thing to do is pull the codes and post up here what they are and an informed diagnoses should follow.

Second thing depending on your location, cancel the Nissan booking and rebook with an approved indy.

Oh! and check your brake fluid level and top it up to the max,

Alex. :)

Sounds weird but I'm pretty sure that I have heard of this happening when the brake fluid level is low ~ check your brake fluid level and ideally top it up to the maximum level.

Then you can do an ECU reset (AKA the pedal dance) to see if you have cured the problem.

Not sure locally to yourself but Horsham Developments are only an hour away from you.

I use a good independent garage locally for minor things (MOT, exhaust fitting etc) and Horsham Developments for everything else. They did all the fluids on my Zed and more (new discs/pads/UpRev etc) when I hadn't had my Zed long. Highly recommend them tbh.

They're also a trader on here; http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/141-horsham-developments/

Best have the codes read then to see what fault code/s it's showing.

Worth noting though that some could be old codes which haven't been reset so I'd have them read, then do the ECU reset and then re-read the codes when the fault comes up again.

Fault codes listed here; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/81962-350z-fault-codes-in-pdf/

right "P0340 camshaft position sensor A circuit- bank 1) is what comes up. from what I can find thats the sensor on the passenger side that needs replacing.

has anyone else had this error code and if so did replacing the sensor solve it?
