Invidia decats, ok to run without a map?

I've just bought a pair of invidia test pipes and wanted to know if I was to fit them now without having the car mapped would it be safe for the engine and would it cause the engine management light to come on? The rest of my set up is stock at the moment.

Yes, they will be fine to run without a map. The only thing you'll harm is your MPG as the need to plant your right foot will become more apparent when there's a V6 backing track.

 

Your EML may come on, although most aftermarket decats incorporate sensor spacers which should prevent this.

You'll be fine. You will definitely get a CEL unless you have O2 sensor extenders on the pipes.

I did the same on mine but with Berk decats, it's fine.

Dependent on if you have o2 extenders/delete to stop the management light coming on it will eventually come on.
