Rachel1983 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Me again! Can any one recommend someone in the Manchester area for wheel refurb, full job, will they look like new and likely cost? mine started to blister Quote
veeg33 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 There's a good one in Halifax, 40mins ish from Manchester. After refurb, they will look like show room alloys! I did my mini cooper wheels recently, had them done by a powder coater company hence I need to get them alloys ready myself. £5 each to remove the tyres, £15 each to fit tyres, valve and balanced. That's £80 before you start. Then for all 4-off 16inch alloys, it cost me £120. So £200 in total. Quote
veeg33 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Got quoted £35 each for 18inch alloys. He's my colleague's brother in law and based in Castleford. Quote
Mudman Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) Not local to you but paid £220 all in for stock to shadow chrome and he came to me so totally hassle free Before After Edited August 5, 2014 by Mudman Quote
Ridz Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I can recommend The Wheel Specialists, who are Manchester based. They did a great job on refurbing my Zed's alloys in January this year, and they still look like new. Great, same day service, with knowledgeable staff. Range of finishes too! Probably £80 per wheel, but ask for a Zed club discount. 1 Quote

The Seasider Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Around here - Hull - tyre on refurb is about £40-50 per corner - which is usually good enough for me, Tyres off dipping/blasting repair & powder coating is about the same but then you normally get charged a fortune for taking the tyres off the rims plus refitting and balancing. I'd make the call based upon how long you think you'll have the car - I had my badly corroded and battered rays done 3 years ago tyre on and apart from one small blemish they are still perfect. I'd probably only go for the tyre off if I was thinking of keeping the car for several years. Quote

N12omc Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I can recommend the wheel specialist. I used their Cardiff branch but while I was researching I saw great things about the Manchester branch Quote
