if u dont mind me asking how did u manage to jump from a 30k car to a 90k car??

im a little confused

I stayed in school and passed my exams :p

But equally passing exam's is not a automatic ticket to making money. I know plenty of people who passed many exam's and have no money. Me for one.

Sure Sarnie has had his fair share of luck (good and bad!) ;):)

I'm a firm believer of making your own luck. In my experience people who have bad luck are the sort of people who sit and wait for things to happen for them.

Good luck happens to go-getting people who get off their arse and make things happen for themselves and not rely on others.

All my own (warped) opinion of course. :D

Makes perfect sense dude, why wait on things when you can initiate your own fortune and get things started. Thats how i think anyway.

Think the answer is Sarnie just worked bloody hard and made some good decisions in life and now he is reaping the success of it all. Take my hat of to him, met him in person, top bloke, very intelligent (surprisingly lol) and totally deserves the lifestyle he has now.

The £5 is in the post :D

Sod the fiver I want the Lambo

Agree with the notion, but at the same time you can be a go getter and still not have luck on your side... Right result if you do though!! :yahoo:

Its all about probabilities. A go-getter will be out there making things happen. By doing so, the probability of him having good luck will be higher than if he was sitting around doing nothing expecting things to land on his lap.

A pro-active person will be more competent at controlling his own destiny as they will be able to pre empt negative things that can be deemed as bad luck happening.

For example, two students sit an exam. One student revises all areas of the syllabus thoroughly for three months before the exam. The other starts his revision 2 weeks before the exam and specialises in one subject area. The first student passes and the second one fails as he was 'unlucky' that his subject area didn't come up in the exam. The first student controlled his own destiny and 'luck'.

There are still people who get off their arse and do stuff, make a decent living and then still end up back at square one. Its allowing your lifestyle to change at the same rate as your personal economy that is the key. Allowing the lifestyle to progress at a more rapid rate than the economy is a danger for many. The usual thing is for the to see a short sharp rapid increase, and perceiving that this wil continue - so banking on the economy catching up with the lifestyle in a few months/years. The problems start when for some that doesnt happen.

How many young uns do you see leaving school, starting to earn more money than they ever knew what to do with (compared to paper round money for example) and blowing the lot on booze at a weekend. Some see the error of their ways, and some dont - which of course, in their own words, results in them having all the bad luck...

That is so true, even to the older generation. One guy at work earns a heap of money for not doing anything, and i mean, he comes in at 12, leaves at 4 and just sits looking at website, writes a few emails and then buggers off. He comes in stinking of alcohol and i know he does other things. He wastes his money on booze and drugs and doesnt bother about anything else in life. Yes i know you may say he has a problem, however he has put himself in that situation, he could have used the money wisely, bought a house (he is still living in a flat when i know his wage could get him a 3 bed apartment in london), have a nice car, have nice nights out when he wants and still enjoy things, rather than wasting it all one alcohol and drugs. I also know that because of this, he has had many verbal and written warnings and is on the verge of being asked to leave if things do not shape up. This will cripple most future careers as he has not done any favours to himself.

I for one will be going for his job though ;)

The propert market has been a good chance to make serious money over the years. Many people I know are happy to tell me how much they paid for their houses and what they are worth now.

The two roads from here are.

1/ be happy that your house is worth more and enjoy it, paying off the mortgage until its yours.

2/ Use the equity in the house to make more money and risk losing your house, little chance of getting back on the property ladder if it goes wrong.

Neither is wrong. Just up to the individual.

You forgot all about the third type that did plenty of work, got a little bored and then used every tactic possibel to throw the rest of the exam room. Like asking for graph paper after 30 mins in my law paper and asking for another book to write in after an hour of a 3 hour exam. It scares the hell out of other people! :teeth:

I agree with what you're saying. At the same time, there are many factors outside of everyone's control, and an element of that is called luck. :)

its not from nowhere, remember he made a risky move starting up on his own from a good company and pay (previous thread), well it worked out for him and now he is making very good money because he applied himself with what he is good at in a growing and demanding buisness. The onl;y luck part is, is that he found out what he was good at and was able to have everything he needed at hand to be succesful, thats it.

Let the man get on with his life without questioning how he got his money and why lol, all I know is that he was able to take advantage what he had at the time, worked his arse off for a greater benifit which he is enjoying now.

+ selling cycling gear on ebay must help towards his petrol lol

Anyhow back to the thread of how shiny his lambo is lol
