Don't really want to get messy with tigerseal as it always goes everywhere Anyone got recommendations? Also what's the best way to get the old glue/tape off the bootlid? Bit of a nightmare lol! Suits Posted June 29, 2014 Share Posted June 29, 2014 Yeah man, I've used that 3M tape, works very well. Used it to fix number plates onto bumpers and small low level spoilers onto boot lids. Never tried to take it off anything mind you. good to know someone has used it I did google it and seems to be good for smaller spoiler etc.. managed to get some of ebay today! GMballistic Posted June 29, 2014 Share Posted June 29, 2014 For removing the gunk off the boot lid ~ you could try heating it up with a hair dryer and rolling off with your fingers the worst of it. Then use "AutoGlym Intensive Tar Remover" to get the glue off. If that doesn't work then try WD40 as that does remove sticky stuff I've found. Richie94gts Posted June 29, 2014 Share Posted June 29, 2014 My body shop gave me a thing which was like an eraser with a hole in it and literally had a bolt through it. Used it in the drill and it removed the glue really well. So much better (and quicker) than heating and autoglym, which I had been using.
