maddog1982 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Hey Guys, Who do you recommend for servicing in the Northwest? Im in Sandbach Cheshire. I was set on using TDI north but nodbody answers the phone. I left a message last week and still haven't heard back. Im on 53k car is a 2007 rev up, any idea what sort of price I will be looking at? I am assuming I will need plugs. Car last had a P1 April 2013 at 46k Matt Quote
GIXXERUK Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I've used tdi north, good service and not had a problem, contacted them via email Another popular choice is Lockwood and green, they have a good rep on here Quote
M13KYF Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 +1 should be a p2 next. Expect to pay around £180 is supplying own oil and plugs. Quote

Beavis Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Have always used Holdcroft Nissan in Stoke and have no complaints. Quote
Stutopia Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I use Stevie @ Grinspeed in Leyland, can't rate him highly enough. http://www.grinspeed.co.uk Quote
Ponsonby Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I am in Nantwich and have always used ABP Motorsport in Shavington to look after my performance cars. Quote
maddog1982 Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Ok TDI North have come back with: P2 service: £228.20 HKS 40 spark plugs £155.76 £383.96 Does this sound about right? Quote
M13KYF Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 seem to remember paying a lot less for plugs. You can spec lower ones which work just as well. Denso Iridium Power Spark Plug IKH16 -x6 for around £60 Quote
maddog1982 Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 I thought it was a bit strong to be honest. I don't know whats included in this service either. I have ticked every available option on the H-dav sight and it comes to £287. I can have a very good mechanic (who works out of a local garage so has access to ramps etc) do this for me but not sure how much he would want. Problem is the car has full stamped history with a folder full of receipts so I was leaning towards getting a dealer to do it. Quote
maddog1982 Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 I will dig through the history and see what was done last time, im sure it was just a basic P1 with the belts being changed. Quote
M13KYF Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 there are two specs of plugs. TDi have quoted for the higher spec version. Ask if you can supply your won plugs and purchase them independently from traders here like Cougar Store, Clark Motorpsort, Opie Oils or Horsham Developments Quote

Little point? Quote

I think that as long as you use a decent independent to do the servicing then it will not make a difference to the history if it is not Nissan. I prefer to buy cars with a fully stamped book, and copies of invoices, rather than one that has been owner serviced. Many owners will do a first rate job of servicing but if you don't know them then it is a gamble. 1 Quote
