2008 Z Ride Quality

Hi all,

Got my 350Z GT in November last year. Just clocked 11,000 miles... Jan 08 plate.

Now, questions ....

Hard ride, clutch, dull brakes and noise are starting to do my head in.

Exhaust noise is lovely but... environmental noise, gravel.. not good.

Are all 350 clutches so watery?

Brakes need a hard press to get them to really bite (compared to a Golf mk6 with on/off brakes)... Normal ?

Is the ride really designed to be so hard? It really shifts and grips but man theres some really terrible roads near me. Worried for my seat springs.

Sounds like a newb thing but I was expecting a lot more subtlety. Wrong ?

NO, I dont want a TT or an A5 ; )

Cheers for any posts guys... thanks ; )

EDIT:

Anyone recommend a decent orbital for waxing too??

Clutches take a while to get used to

brakes have a lot of feel imo, the golf's are over servo'd and lack feel

with only 11k the suspension is probably quite hard

most of the above just take getting used to, unless it's tramlining in which case it may need an alignment, have you checked youtyre pressures ?

did you test drive the car before you bought it ;)

da most peeps have a das6 or the megs, rotary are mostly the same but check the weight some are heavy ! technique, pads and polish play are bigger part than the machine

hth

Cheers Gixx,

Its the design then. Its hardcore compared to motors I've had before.

No tramlining, pressures and tyres are perfect.

Its fine when I'm blasting it but slow around the 'burbs its bloody annoying.

Yes I test drove it.... fu>king loved it... thats why I bought it

Will check out ure orbitals. Cheers ; )

Nowt worse than over-servo'd brakes, makes for a horrible drive. The Zed is miles ahead of any VW or Audi in that regard. You have plenty of stopping power, more than a Golf, you just need to press harder and appreciate what good brakes are supposed to feel like ;)

What tyres are you on? The original 050s will be well past their best on your car and should be replaced if they haven't already.

Cheers guys,

Love my Z. Should float though more though. I have been driving utter crates for years so I don't notice that much. Just thought it would be real smooth.

When you rev it up through 1st to 4th and do 130 the suspension makes perfect sense :D

Commute is a ball-ache at 25mph.

Will do a real good check on my tyres though. They must be the originals. Very deep tread though (they do go off I know)

Cheers all.
