RickyBarton Posted April 14, 2014 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Hi, I have recently got my FairlayZ out of hibernation (still run her once a week through winter and kept her moving) but she has started acting skittish round corers, flashing the SLIP warning and it feels like the ABS is trying to correct the car (sometimes on the front and sometimes on the back). It isn’t because I am over cooking the bends – these are the same roads we have driven for the last few years so this is a new issue which is frankly worrying me – my eldest girl is dying to come out with me this year and I wont take her just in case. If not I will replace the sensors and see how that goes - it isn't showing any codes from the ecu which is weird. I will report back. uc-logic Posted April 24, 2014 Share Posted April 24, 2014 Having a similar issue. Have been rolling on 20 inch wheels for over a year with no issues. Fitted new tyres in February, all good but noticed excessive tyre squeal at low speed when turning right. Took the car for a four wheel alignment, rear was ok but the front was out quite a bit. A few days later I had the nasty experience of the esp light coming on in the middle of a right hand bend and the car trying to correct a problem that wasn't there. Cannot reproduce the problem in left handlers and it only happens when you in the bend taking your foot off the accelerator, if you stay on the throttle it does not happen. I switched off the ESP and tried again, right hand bend, foot off the brake, problem gone. Tried again but this time applying the brake and everything went messy like the ABS was trying to correct things when there was nothing to correct. Visit to the garage, no errors showing, no visual damage to the ABS ring but what I did notice was the way the front near side tyre had worn to the inside edge - down to the wear bar - could this be the problem? RickyBarton Posted April 25, 2014 Author Share Posted April 25, 2014 Netnomad - have you had a similar problem which +1psi sorted? uc-logic - see why I wont take my 5 year old out in her - really upsetting as I have had her 6 years (the car not the child - obviously I have only had the child 5 years!!) without a problem. I wont take the ESP off as we have some serious scenery here which I don't want to be part of plus the farmers leave the roads in terrible condition and it it hard enough to keep the Navara on the road sometimes nevermind the Z!! The ABS sensors (for new originals) are like £300 a corner - I want to try and locate the problem instead of forking out £1200 to cover all angles - anyone know who may be able to help??
