The Trouser Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I've tried to search for this but unfortunately couldn't find an answer If my dipstick is on the low level mark - how much oil should I add to get it to the high level mark? TIA TT Quote
BulletMagnet Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Add enough until it reads just under "Max" Quote
tony.r123 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) CS or Zedmanalex will be able to advise you correctly, i think it's between 500ml and 1L but i'd get them to confirm that mate Edited February 16, 2014 by tony.r123 Quote
ATTAK Z Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 From low to high marks on the dipstick on a DE engine is 1.5 litres Quote
BulletMagnet Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) No seriously, if you do an oil change it's 4.5L, oil change with changing the oil filter it's 4.7L. But since you are near the MIN marker it's difficult to tell. Just take a reading on the dipstick and then add a little and read the dipstick again, do so until you reach the desired level. Do not add 4.5L, only do so if you are changing oil. Edited February 16, 2014 by BulletMagnet Quote
Neilp Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Do this while engine is cold. Inbetween fills allow to settle for 5-10 mins to get an accurate reading Quote
Briggsybriggs1 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I was always was told 1LT between H and L level ? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
The Trouser Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 From low to high marks on the dipstick on a DE engine is 1.5 litres Thanks to all - I'm sure I've read somewhere previously that it was 1 - 1.2 LT - so thanks for the info - that will be fine. 1 Quote
