Facelift interior upgrade

So it turns out that tbe face lift a/c controls don't work on a DE engined car....

 

So how and why do people upgrade the interior? Does anyone know a way around this?

Didn't know anybody had done this before. Was looking forward to seeing how you were gonna do this.

Is that just the white box behind the contols?

you have to make sure that the AC control unit is matched to the AC controls as they are not interchangable..... there are several part numbers for the same parts

yep

So you use the hr a/c control box with the existing DE wiring in the car?

i believe so.... its the fact that the older control box is trying to talk to a newer control panel. the wiring into the unit isnt much different but the electronics in the switchgear is....

i had a AC control unit fail on mine.. got a replacement but it tunrned out to be from a DE car. it ran the system but was all over the place with the controls not turning the right thing on and the dials not working correctly. swapped it out for a unit from a newer car with the same part numbers as the original and presto.. works great

So were you trying to link the face lift a/c control to the DE a/c module (the white box)?
