Door handle LEDs possible?

Used to love my door handles light up when I unlocked my car on my 3 series has anybody done this to there Zed, on here? If so how? I don't want anything chavy just a subtle glow like the BMW did

I guess the only way to do it would be to hack into the courtesy light but is this easy to do

Piece of **** to do.

Halfords do a LED strip that you can wire up to the door light or the interior light which ever suits and they stick on behind the handle.

Cheap enough to buy too and only 2 wires

Dont know tbh. Wont have mine for 2 weeks. But if not just wire it to the interior light.

If I hack into the dome light loom which coloured wires do I need to look out for in the a pillar? Searches I've done show a door trigger wire left and right is this it? Would these be (+) ?

If you're going to hack into the Dome light wires be careful as I remember Husky mentioning that they're connected to the BCM.

It's been done on a celica I know.

 

I did this on my celica GT4 - the job was easy because the Celica has a rear facing light in the door already rather than just a reflector. i have a couple of LED strips that I was considering fitting to the Zed.

Yep, very easy with a led strip, just be VERY careful with the electrics and the BCM

Might give it a miss appears to be bit of a risk if I get it wrong, never had any luck with electrics lol

I did this on mine shortly before I sold it. It looked good.

 

Warning: If you short the dome lights you will fry a track on the BCM, it is however repairable if you take the BCM apart and re-solder the burned track.
