I was looking at these instead of the zed right back before i had mine! The only thing putting me off was i needed an everyday car and this would not live up to expectations. However if it is a fun weekend type of second car, go for it

If you're serious look around the Pistonheads forums in the TVR bits. There are so many things to look out for its unreal! :wacko:

 

If they'd ever got round to making them properly it probably would have been my next car.

So breaks down alot parts are expensive likely to be in garage long time.. What else is there for 20k to buy. That looks awesome is pretty quick and is reliable...not alot really :scare:

On PH, goto the speed 6 section and read the problems, there are a lot of problems but dontlet it put you off.

 

However as your daily driver, dont get one

He went bust. The company is currently in the hands of a receiver so no factory support or dealer network. Leave it well alone dude.

A lot of car for your money at the moment, but agree with most that you need this to be a second car.

 

Nobody has said that he needs the EXIGE to be a second car :surrender::wacko:

The Exige only came with the Toyota engine i thought, the Elise S1 came with the Rover and the S2 with the Toyota. Both were pretty reliable to be honest and there were no proper problems with the Rover engine unless you did not let the car warm up properly before hammering it, this caused head gasket failure and a £400-£900 repair bill.

 

Lots of tuning possibilities too if you look at PTP or Dave Andrews Tuning

Anyway both cars are best used as a second car. Just Sarnie being his usual picky self.

The thread changed from being about a T350 to an Exige, however i agree, they are both second cars or social cars, not an everyday car.

You could be right. The fact remains though that they require a fair amount of maintenance to keep them in top condition, and if Zedrush is a bit of a Chunky Chappie, which being a cage fighter he probably is, then the effort required to get in and out of the thing is likely to be a pain if used on a regular basis.

I called up the S2 which is this one is the Toyota VVTI 190 engine, 0-60 under 5 seconds. Im 5'11 ft tall and 14.5 stone do you think I will have problems fitting in this?

 

Why cant it be used for every day purpose? to a thro from work?

 

It said to need servicing every 9k miles and if you go to a specialist rather than a main dealer prices you are looking at are between 150 - 500 pounds a time... B)

You wont have problems fitting in, but will look like a tw@t getting in and out of it, like i did with an Elise
