Constant cd skipping

Since my friend did the left speaker cut out fix for me the cd constantly jumps until you come to a standstill. Said he couldn't do it without removing a certain part that a couple of people on the guide didn't need to but the question is, now what do I do to fix it?

Binning it isn't an option, the Bose is staying

If it didn't do it before he 'fixed it' , get him to put the part back in he took out!

Sounds like typical skippy BOSE symptoms to me. Choices are iPod hack or new HU.

By replacing the hU, you still keep all other BOSE hardware such as amp etc. But you do lose the Bluetooth phone facility.

I don't spend enough time in the car to warrant stereos this time round. It was absolutely fine before he removed the suspension on the cd bit. It's already had the iPod hack done too but as of the weekend isn't working as it won't select tape when I push the button. Not even messed with the stereo, had it out to fit the Nav screen etc but not touched it itself

I'm not an ICE expert, far from it, so can't make an technical suggestions I'm afraid, but could it simply be a case of you disturbing something, or maybe trapping a wire when you refitted the HU? It's easily done.

I know it looks like a bowl of multi-coloured spaghetti back there! I'd pull the HU back out and examine the wiring for a starter. Then slap your friend upside the head :)

Righty then, it would appear it works properly now, one spring had gone past its marker. Gave it a test by shaking it about lol, didn't skip either so fingers crossed.

Now there's just the issue of the stereo not selecting tape since last weekend. I took the centre console out to fit the new screen but never actually messed with the stereo, now it won't select tape. Meh
