Useless standard CD player - is this nissan recognised issue?

I know thy are a common issue, but mine is totally useless. I was just wondering if it was ever acknowledged by nissan and they issued replacements? If so, are they likely to replace my 2006 unit?

What are you supposed to do about it if they dont? I know I can put an aftermarket double din head unit, but I really want to keep it looking OEM.

dont bother keeping it looking oem - everyone who knows the cars will consider the fact that it still has the oem stereo in as a negative, because it wont work! You'll get far better quality sound out of an aftermarket unit, and do away with the 1980s cassette deck and join the 21st century with an aux in!

With car stereos being give away prices these days, id be tempted to just swap it out for something else. I did the ipod hack on mine and it does work well, but it would be handy to see track listings etc. on the display.

Good man. I know where to come then:)

Going back to my original post though, does anyone know if nissan actually acknowledged this fault with CD players that basicly don't work and offered to fix or replace them for free?
