  1. No bother. Just let me know if you want it. Cheers. Lew.
  2. Just shelled out £270 for a new one of these from nissan as the bush in mine was gubbed making a nasty clonking sound. Only after I bought a new one from Nissan, I found out that there are companies that sell the replacement bushes for 30ish quid (some traders on here). It seems a shame to bin this as the main part (the alloy arm) is totally servicable, it just needs a new bush. Not sure if its worth anything TBH, but im trying to get some cash together for a new exhaust. £30 if anyones interested? Cheers, Lew.
  3. Idealy second hand. I did have the money for a new one but just had to pay out £350 for new suspension parts so am a bit skint. If I can find a cheap enough second hand one I can get it now, otherwise I'll have to save up for a new one. Probably a cobra from CS.
  4. Nothing too cheap (japspeed), somthing mid range, like a scorpion or cobra etc. Looking for Y- pipe back, or cat back if its the right price. Will pick up if local (Central Scotland) or could possibly arrange for a courier pick up. Cheers. Lew.
  5. Going back to my original post though, does anyone know if nissan actually acknowledged this fault with CD players that basicly don't work and offered to fix or replace them for free?
  6. Any reccomendations on a plug and play alternative that aint too much cash? I suppose a usb slot would be a big bonus.
  7. I know thy are a common issue, but mine is totally useless. I was just wondering if it was ever acknowledged by nissan and they issued replacements? If so, are they likely to replace my 2006 unit? What are you supposed to do about it if they dont? I know I can put an aftermarket double din head unit, but I really want to keep it looking OEM.
  8. Looks like a good app. I dont think the cops could use much of what you filmed against you, unless you videoed yourself running down pedestrians or somthing! I got told off on here the other day for saying I did 85 on a motorway (which I did!). I would love to see a motoring conviction arise from the evidence of 'internet chatroom banter'!
  9. Yeah, I did read about the bananna bars and drop links via the search button. Guess i'll check the drop links first. How do you disconnect them? is it just a case of unbolting them? As for the bananna bar, can you change the bush or do you replace the whole bar? DIY or garage job you think? Whts the best place for these types of suspension spares? Cheers.
  10. Well I've only had the car a week and the problems have started. This one is a really nasty suspension clunk when the wheels go over rough surfaces. Its really taking the fun out of driving it. A search throws up a TSB from nissan saying to tighten some link bolts, which I have and they wont go any tighter so I dont think its that. I have jacked up both sides and had the wheels off looking for play in anything and cant seem to find anything loose or worn. Any ideas?
  11. Well spotted! It was one of the minor 'defects' the dealer 'forgot' to mention. The bottom of the Z had actually broken off so I just took the whole thing off as it looked crap. New badge is already on order
  12. Yeah, private plate. Its really an 06 plate. Cheers for the comments guys.
  13. Really pleased with it. I braved the wind and rain today to give it a basic clean to get the ton of salt that had accumilated on it from the drive home from england yesterday. Feel a bit better now I've checked and topped up all the fluids and addressed some minor cosmetic issues. Only thing of concern is what I mentioned in the other thread about the clunk in higher gears when jumping on the gas. Anyway, Its a real hoot to drive and sounds great. So some pics as I promised...
  14. Cheers. I wouldnt dare take a pic at the moment. After driving up the M6 with the amount of salt on it, its white, not black! Will try to give it a quick clean later if the rain stops. I have checked the FAQ's but the noise dosent seem to be what is described in them.
  15. OK, I know there is a search function and i'll get to that part in a moment! The car is excellent, pretty much as I immagined it. Looks nice, sounds nice and provided a average 29.2 MPG at about 85mph mostly using the cruise control over almost 200 miles. Yes it it a lovely car, looks better in the flesh than the pictures. interior is in great condition too. There is a couple of dodgy bits the dealer 'forgot' to mention - a couple of little scuffs and very fine scratches on the exterior and the 'Z' from the rear 350Z badge is missing! All in all, im pretty happy. I have just one concern... I know I probably gonna get shouted at to search, but I have and I cant find a thread that matches these symptoms... The car drives fine, but (more noticably in the higher gears) if you take your foot off the gas and let the car coast for a bit, and gradualy put your foot back on the throttle its nice and smooth with re-introducing the power. However, if you let it coast for a bit in 5th or 6th and then stamp on the throttle, you get an almighty clunk as the power re-engages to the rear wheels. Any ideas what this could be, or is it normal? PS, the clutch 'feels' fine and there are no other dodgy transmision problems as far as I can tell.
  16. Many thanks for the welcoms folks, I have made it home safe in a enjoyable/relaxing 3 hour drive! Gonna put a thread up in the general section as I have a few questions!
  17. Yeah, i meant 4 previous owners one of which was a nissan demo car. On the train now to lancashire to pick it up. Weather looks prettty bad here. I saw on the news the M6 was shut near were im picking it up from (preston). Hope i can get back ok!
  18. No problem, will do. Im up on general forum etiquite, just being lazy as it finishes soon lol! The Z is totally standard and has 71,000 miles, a little more than I wanted, but I didnt expect to get a facelift for my budget. 4 previous and full nissan service history, including the expensive 50-odd-thousand mile one.
  19. Cheers for the welcome folks! I know I should probably search for the anwser to this, but the first mod I want to do is a more vocal exhaust back-box to release a bit of sound. Im watching a Japspeed K1 exhaust (second hand) on ebay at the moment that finishes soon. Ive seen and heard a few vids on you tube of what they are like and im quite pleased with the sound. I was just wondering if they are rated as a decent exhaust and what the difference between the k1 and k2 versions are???
  20. Hi folks. My name is Lew, I live in Helensburgh, West Scotland. Im car-less at the moment as I sold my Skoda Fabis vRS 2 weeks ago, however I pick up a facelift 2006 black 350Z tomorrow. Been shopping for one for a while so hopefully I have chosen wisely. I've had a mixed history of cars in the last few years, ranging from an 86bhp rover 400 turbo diesiel, to a 425bhp Mk2 Focus RS, however, I have never owned a 2 seater, never owned a RWD car and never owned a Nissan, so I am really looking forward to the experience! Not the best pics as they are screen shots from my phone, but you get the idea (im sure you've all seen one before!) Get some better pics up when I collect it tomorrow.
