Wheel Cleaning Advice?...

Recommended Posts

Just cleaned my wheels today that I treated with Gtechniq after a week of daily driving and a 250 mile trip. Just used shampoo and a wool brush and they came up brilliant. Normally I would have used Bilberry wheel cleaner.

My ultimate lazy wheel clean would be:

Car pro iron x or wolf decon gel .... Leave for five mins and pressure wash off

Citrus based apc followed by tar remover if necessary

Finish off with wolfs Nano clean and coat cleaner, with a long brush

Pressure washer off

Done

And the wolfs provides some protection, not like some of the heavyweights but enough for a quick fix

Crikey. If that's your idea of ultimate lazy I must be positively horizontal when I was my wheels!

Lol, i only say easy as it involves spraying and leaving two products, pressure washing it off and only using a brush on one.

But the best solution is take them off, do a proper job and seal them with several layers of g techniq, ultimata, jet seal or similar ...

Then for a year or so will only need rinsing

Finally with some good weather, I decided to put my wheel brushes and Poorboys Wheel Sealant to good use! - Hours of cleaning and 3 coats of sealant later, these are the results! Thank you everyone for the advice, and to Tim at Envy Valeting for the brushes.

Sexytime.

Just remember - soap only now, otherwise you remove the poorboys ;)

I use a micro fibre mit and find I can get enough of my hand and arm in between the spokes to clean the inside of the rim right to the edge. Also means I can clean the inner face of the spokes!
