speedo help

hi people so i changed my alternator as old one stopped working now my speedo does not work also the digital one is still on but just says 0 all the time now could this be a loose cable or is it electric ?

First thing to do would be check all the connections to do with the alernator are sound and any earthing connections are as they should be as doing a search on electrical gremlins on here reveals that often turns out to be the cause.

 

Otherwise if you are near one of the independents that advertise on here I would suggest you get your car along to them for a looksee.

+1 on checking the earths but also check all the fuses in the drivers footwell, as you may have popped one while fitting, and i know the speedo has at least one fuse that controls it.

Don't forget the fuses by the battery too, not sure which one you need but they are all on the back of thecover
