Drivers Window Fault

Hello, have a problem with my drivers window, will not open and then suddenly it will open by itself and if it goes all the way down a bugger to get back up.

 

Garage say need new window motor which is expensive, anyone come across this before and any cheap solutions.

you can take it apart and clean the brushes in the motor which has had results..check the guides section

give the bushes a good clean, try a window reset. If still no good then its time for a new motor. Traders on here sell them. Guides for cleaning and reset found in the guides section

Thanks for all the advice will give it a brush and reset on weekend, if that fails will shell out for the new motor.
