Hard to start then funny exhaust smell

Good morning everyone.

 

This morning for the first time in 3 years of ownership I had my first problem with the car. She was reluctant to start this morning and took probably 5 - 10 seconds to get the engine to start. It did start eventually and felt like it was running rough until the throttle was blipped a few times then ticked over as normal. The only other thing that i've never noticed before was a different exhaust smell. Very strong compared to normal. Got to work okay in it and no hesitation when accelerating or anything so not too sure what the problem might be.

Smell was almost certainly excess fuel/vapour being pushed out the exhaust from turning the engine over.

 

If no warning lights have appeared on dash hopefullyjust a one-off, but maybe a service/plug/air filter change is due?

Thanks for the quick reply. The car had a P1 service last month at Nissan. Hopefully your right and it was a one off.

Chuck a bottle of injector cleaner in there, could just be slightly clogged.

 

After three years I'd be tempted to put a can of 10K Boost through there too, you'll be amazed at the amount of crap that stuff gets rid of.
