oasisniall Posted October 17, 2012 Share Posted October 17, 2012 My paint/lacquer around the numbers on my standard gear knob on my 350z has started to lift and it is annoying me. Does anybody know where to find a brand new standard one or do you recommend replacing it for an aftermarket part? Also is it easy enough to replace it yourself? I tried to give it a slight twist off just as a test and it didnt seem to want to move. I didnt want to give it anymore just incase i ended up breaking it. Lexx Posted October 17, 2012 Share Posted October 17, 2012 Nismo replacements of various types are available from Tarmac or Redline Styling. OEM ones are available from ZMANALEX. DO NOT TRY TO TWIST IT OFF BY HAND! You can do quite a bit of damage to your gearbox by torqueing down through the shaft. You need to remove the surround, and the gaitor, and use a pair of mole grips on the shaft to hold it in place as you turn the original knob off Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
