robin c Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Any one tried replacing the broom stick handle fitted for a stubby. Its a bit well ugly imo. I am guessing the sat-nav is taken car by the blob at the bottom and the aerial mast is only for AM/FM? Quote
robin c Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 bugger will have to buy another stubby Quote
Will370z Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Lots of cars in the usa have tried to mod / replace the roadster aerial. I would be tempted by something like the bmw fin like aerial. Quote
robin c Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Shall have a look, bear in mind most newish BMWs have satellite radio as standard, so would worry about fm reception over here, shall look into it. Cheers for the pointers chaps. Quote

robin c Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 I can confirm that putting a stubby on the roadster completely cains the FM reception. A noticeable difference in performance, espically on certain frequencies whilst on the move. Suppose it will be fine if you like main radio stations with a strong signal etc, but I mainly listen to Absolute and I the radio kept trying to auto seek with stubby on. Sat Nav was fine though, but that may just be luck. Back on with the broom stick handle. Quote
