agentsmith350 Posted September 10, 2012 Share Posted September 10, 2012 Hi Guys , At my last service the dealership used 10W/40 Oil , Iv seen alot on here say it needs to be 5W 30 and that this can cure the light tapping noise that you sometimes hear when the cars warmed up which come to think of it started after a service. I asked Nissan what type they had used and got the below - The type of oil used was Nissan Motor Oil 10W/40. The reccomendations from the manufacturer for Z33 VQ35DE / VQ35HR is Nissan Motor Oil 0W/30 or 10W40. Where has this 5W recommendation came from as i would like some official proof to go back to them with so that i dont have to stump the cost of the oil and the work. Section 8-3 For cold areas - 10W-30 recommended for above -20 5W-30 will improve fuel economy For hot areas - 20W-40 & 20W-50 are suitable. They are fine at 130C. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition.
